About Fleet Defender: The F-14 Tomcat Simulation
\THE F-14 TOMCAT SIMULATION\
"Launch the Ready-Five, Launch the Ready-Five."
The catapult officer calls for full afterburner. 50,000 pounds of thrust spools behind you as your F-14 strains for release. Less than three seconds later your Tomcat screams through the air at 150 knots. You climb to meet your wingman, then head off to join the fight.
Fleet Defender is the first flight simulator to accurately recreate carrier-based operations. Experience all the excitement of a catapult launch, realistic air-to-air combat and the challenge of landing on a pitching deck. You'll be drawn into the high-stakes world of Navy's top guns.
Start your career the same way as a real F-14 crew: training at Oceania Naval Air Station, Virginia, home of the Atlantic Fleet Tomcats. From there, you're bound for duty in the Arctic waters of Norway's North Capa or in the southern Mediterranean, of the Libyan cost. You'll need razor-sharp piloting skills to defeat hostile aircraft using state-of-the-art fighter tactics.
I don't know what's the deal with this game but appears that some people love it while some hate it. For me it's not that great. Plenty of different jets to choose from. Equipment highly customizable. Visuals pixelated but sprites are good. Controls are not the best and spread across whole keyboard with multum of functions like ejecting flares, chaff, droping hook or wheels and some more. Missions might appear a bit tedious to play. Overall made for flight sim enthusiasts only.
7 found this helpful

Not a bad sim, but a lot of people are gonna be in for a surprise with how difficult this game actually is. Learning the controls will take a good while, which isn't made any better by the fact that the manual is wrong in quite a few places.
A classic! The game where I learned to land! Decades later I got to fly the P=3 sim at NAS and had a near perfect landing. Commander was not too impressed but I was!
This game is attempting to access my microphone multiple times per minute almost every day. I dont have the game installed by the way...
