Food Boy

Way more complicated than it needs to be. A little bit of challenge makes a game exciting, but how you have to adjust both joysticks on the controller a certain way just to throw pizzas to people makes it too challenging in order for the game to be any fun. A failed homage to "Paperboy"

Food Boy is sort of a Paper Boy clone. I thought Food Boy would be a hit, but sadly only has 3 reviews. #1 issue is the price. I purchased Food Boy on sale, and don't regret it. The non-price sale is too high in this market of over saturated games, I understand that the developer doesn't get to keep much after paying others which will remain nameless since we are using their platform. Food Boy is fun, although very challenging due to the pull back on the right stick which works great unless you miss your target. The second throw always ends up being short due to time constraints, and holding back the right stick longer makes the food fly further. Meanwhile, you're avoiding obstacles as well as the customer who is running after you because they didn't get their food delivered. So, in my opinion the length of the throw should not be timed, which leads to the negative review bringing this up. I also feel their should be an auto-aim feature for less skilled players. Hopefully, you'll see Food Boy on sale, and I recommend picking it up. If you're really good at retro games, none of the above issues will affect you.

Really fun and addictive game! Narrative is mostly simple where you deliver pizzas on a bike, though you have the freedom to use pizzas as projectiles to hit people, dogs and obstacles. My only minor complaint is that at first the shooting is not intuitive as it works like a slingshot, so you must pool the right stick in the opposite direction from your target then release instead of pointing towards it. However after playing for a bit it gets quite intuitive.
