Nice sidescrolling jump & run platformer with some puzzles. No fighting! If you enjoyed Inside, give this 'Sci-Fi Alien on another Planet with Robots' themed Dystopia a chance. The start is a bit slow and unnecessary long, but overall really nice gameplay with beautiful colorful graphics. No free saving but checkpoints are fair. This might be my favorite side-scrolling adventure I've played. It's a cinematic puzzle-platformer in the same vein as The Cub and Planet of Lana, alternating between fast-paced set pieces and environmental or enemy-based puzzles. Like many games in this genre, it also comes with its share of rough edges: imprecise platforming, overly specific puzzle solutions, occasionally unclear direction, and a few too many moments that force you to restart. Where Planet Alpha truly sets itself apart, though, is its world. Atmospheric games often get praised for their visuals, sometimes more than they deserve, but here the acclaim is completely justified. Every environment feels thoughtfully crafted, and it's obvious how much care went into the visual design. I never fully understood what the story was trying to tell, but honestly, I didn't mind. Exploring this mysterious planet- filled with the remnants of an ancient civilization, vibrant alien flora and fauna, and the backdrop of a robotic invasion- was captivating on its own. The pacing sags a little in the middle, but I was hooked from beginning to end because I couldn't wait to see what the next area would reveal. Planet Alpha isn't perf…

Very pretty game with stunning graphics and atmospheric soundscapes. This is a 2D/2.5D platformer with some puzzle elements, where you are thrust into an alien planet scenario where you will have to get rid of or dodge wildlife and technological adversaries alike. Graphics: Absolutely stunning with many creatures and plants sporting bioluminescence to give this an almost synthwave or neon/blacklight feel, especially at night time. Sound: Atmospheric drones, beautifully crafted alien wildlife sounds and believable technology beeps and bloops to not only provide background but actually helping you survive. Gameplay: Kind of surprised about the negative reviews talking about boring gameplay. It makes me wonder if these reviewers have taken the time to actually play past the first chapter... Gameplay is pretty varied, with some tight platforming, some high-speed scenes, puzzles involving both objects and the planet's day/night cycle (and manipulation thereof), and some out-right tense action sequences with an over-arching story told purely graphically and through events around you. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and warmly recommended.

It's really gorgeous, but suffers from underwhelming gameplay. I play, and enjoy, plenty of simple/easy games that don't have too much depth, sadly this didn't satisfy any gaming itch.,
