This is one of those games where you know after just 2 minutes that it's nothing special. I know played it for 2 hours...and I want my time back. Well, this game doesn't tell an exciting story. It's completely generic. It seems that, in addition to the standard RPGMaker sets, some of the scenarios were also used here. It advertises a dynamic party system...that means that you play with a predetermined pair for a few minutes (a dungeon). Then the story changes and you play with another pair. This repeats itself until you finally have the whole group together. Each of these pairs plays the same. That is to say, the party hardly does any damage, while the opponents are always a bit stronger (and above all in the majority). Since you hardly get any money after the fights, you either have to swallow the expensive potions or run back to the next inn. This repeats itself about every 3-4 fights. Oh yes, the fights...they're boring. No tactics whatsoever. Just hit them. I would never buy this game at full price. If it's on sale...I wouldn't recommend buying it.

For its price, the game is quite short and the story and characters very basic. The maps are also probably premade as a recognized one exactly identical to one from another game, minus the puzzles, completely absent in this whole game. All in all, it's not bad, and I'd give it a mixed rating if there was one. It just didn't really leave me with anything after the time spent, there was no particular satisfaction in the ending, but it didn't really feel bad going through it either. Maybe buy it at a discount if you're interested.

From the Ashes is a fantasy role-playing game developed by Mage's Hat and published by Aldorlea Games that proudly embraces the traditions of classic RPGs. Rather than chasing modern trends, the game focuses on delivering a story-driven adventure filled with exploration, turn-based combat, character growth, and a richly imagined world facing destruction. Set in the kingdom of Lavelle, the narrative begins after years of peace are shattered by the emergence of a powerful necromancer whose actions threaten to plunge the realm into darkness. The story revolves around a desperate struggle for survival and the efforts of heroes who must rise against overwhelming odds to restore hope to a broken land. One of the game's greatest strengths is its dedication to storytelling. The plot unfolds through a steady stream of dialogue, character interactions, and world-building that help establish the stakes of the conflict. While the central premise follows familiar fantasy themes, the emphasis on rebuilding after tragedy gives the journey a meaningful emotional core. The world feels like a place recovering from disaster rather than merely serving as a backdrop for combat encounters. This approac…

Short game, typical rpgmaker fashion. The early game is a bit confusing with all the party switches. But the late and end game lets you use all 6 members. The last boss is a long fight. I do recommend playing if you are an rpg fan.

Very retro feel to it, simple controls and it has it's own little charm to it. I have very little time in it so far so i'll keep this updated as I play throughout the week, But as of right now I can recommend it to fans of retro games like Final fantasy IV.

Recognised every map from other games i've played. The game itself was nothing new or dynamic and it filled a few hours. A tentative recommend at sale price only.
