About FRONT MISSION 2: Remake

A classic tactical RPG returns! The second game in the main Front Mission storyline is finally available outside of Japan for the first time.

FRONT MISSION 2: Remake blends intense strategy with a deep and involved storyline.

12 years have passed since the second Huffman conflict. The impoverished People's Republic of Alordesh has been suffering a severe economic decline ever since the war ended. In June 2102, soldiers of the Alordesh Army rise up and, led by Ven Mackarge, declare independence from the O.C.U. (Oceania Cooperative Union).

Ash, an O.C.U. soldier, manages to survive the ensuing battle, but Alordesh is completely overrun by the Revolutionary Army. Ash and his surviving teammates infiltrate Alordesh's chaotic underground in an attempt to escape the country. However, they soon discover that there is a huge conspiracy behind the coup.

In FRONT MISSION 2: Remake, the perspective switches between three characters: Ash, Lisa, and Thomas, creating a worldview that goes beyond a simple dichotomy between good and evil.

FRONT MISSION 2: Remake preserves the mature story, strategic turn-based combat, and Wanzer customization options of the original. Enjoy the revitalized classic with updated visuals and new features and enhancements!
  • Improved loading speed
  • Support for many new languages
  • New 'free camera' option to zoom in during gameplay and check out Wanzers in detail
  • New coloring and camouflage options
  • Modern in-game effects
  • Renewed soundtrack

QoL improvements from remake 1 are totally absent. Controlls are terrible, UI is terrible and the overall feel is like remake of Shin Megami Tensei 3 remake in Unity engine. Even with the discount this game is "outdated" more than 8bit game, not worth the money

This game is SO dull. The story is boring, made moreso by wonky translation choices. It's easy to forget who you have on your team, what their motives are, and what beef they had with the person 2 cutsenes ago. You are mostly speed reading to get the gist, laughing periodically at the unintended humor of the pics used for "serious face" and "shocked face," and then it's time for Mech Mayhem! But even that is made boring by systems that are introduced in this game but actually made good in future games. The AP system ensures that your mechs are neither moving too much in a turn, as then they cannot take an action; nor can you load mechs up with gear, as weight now affects combat stats. You buy these big monstrous mechs that can carry a buttload of weapons, but you only equip one. That is as fun to play as it sounds. Then you have barely-explained status effects, wrongly worded skill explanations, and shoulder shields that seem to either block damage totally or not at all. And of course, it wouldn't be a proper bore without the worst aspect of Game 1 - the shopping/hand-me-down simulator. All in all, the worst in the series, PLEASE do yourself a favor and skip it, no matte…

Don't like this game near as much as FM1. Game is both clunky and unnecessarily complex. Waaa.

Wiped all of my save files after 8 hours, apparently a common issue that has still not been fixed. Lost all motivation to start over again. Don't waste your time until the issue is patched - if that ever occurs.

The game had a rocky start, but they release updates fixing the issues (Some small issues are still around). The game runs great and the English localization has been reworked. If you liked FM 1st I highly recommend picking it up. If you haven't played any FM remake games just remember these are remake in a sense of graphics and audio not gameplay. They still play like the originals. Think of them as HD versions, not remakes bring them to modern standard for tactical games.
