Frostbitten

"Frostbitten" is a student project that's been dumped on Steam outside of Early Access (where it belongs), but is definitely in an unpolished and incomplete state. We must question what value it has for gamers for incomplete student projects like this being dumped on Steam... they're not valuable for gamers. And indie devs have to compete with all this pollution. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. I think it wasn't that bad until the part with the watchtower. (Except that the enemy can teleport.) For some reason you can't climb the stairs normally but you have to jump multiples times to get on top. Then I made it and hide in the locker just like the game said and somehow still died. Then I had to replay the whole level again and I said nope I'm out.

huh huh huh, I hear ya kid huh huh huh, good luck kid the writing is bad, the acting is bad, and it's mechanically a bit annoying, but thank goodness you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ MOVE like SONIC in this game so I was hopeful until I ran into the actual part with the monster when you're just slowing it down while looking for a key in a frozen maze.
