About Frozen Friday Night: The Eve

Oh, hey. It's you! Have a seat and grab some pizza. Champagne? I'm good, thank you. Except I messed up the History of Art, you know, like Baroque, Rococo, Bauhaus, Cubism... yeah, they really make me wanna puke. So, how have you been? We've barely talked in a year. I thought you were so quiet at first. Oh, I almost forgot your name, haha. Sorry. Oh, really? Same! I'm Jimmy. Cheers, really nice to see you again, friend. Let's get wasted tonight then! By the way, do you like scary movies?

Before I begin this review, I want to sincerely thank the developers for creating such an incredible game. I stumbled across the trailer on YouTube by chance and found it intriguing, so I decided to buy the game. It was only $4.99 USD. But this game should never be dismissed as just a "cheap" five-dollar game. It absolutely does not deserve to be buried among the flood of low-effort, mass-produced titles that can't even be called indie games in good conscience. Even now, I genuinely don't understand why more people haven't discovered this game. It deserves far more recognition and a much wider audience. And if the lack of attention is simply due to weak marketing, then frankly, the developers need to take that seriously and reflect on it. From the moment I started playing, I could tell this game was something different. Most games pop up a window saying something like "Use X to attack" when introducing new controls. But here, those hints are seamlessly woven into the environment. You might spot them scribbled on a window or painted on a wall. They don't feel like external prompts, but rather a natural part of the world itself. Even after the tutorial, the game avoids direct …

Fun horror game with gory death scenes, quite challenging combat, and nice RPG elements (later on). It starts as your typical slasher but takes an unexpected direction... you'll be hunting crocodiles for money, fighting ghosts, and more.. This game is kinda bad... It's like those 2D souls-likes, but with weird hitboxes and you die in one hit. i genuinely cant tell how many iframes my dodge gives and enemy attack are just plain terrible to prepare to. the enemy animations are bad, they just get close to you, start attacking and youre dead. So far ive seen 3 types of enemies and 2 of them just run away from you to then dash attack and the other enemy just runs up to you and keeps attacking. I'd say it's just a skill issue, but even then fighting enemies just feels long and tedious (unless they spawn right in front of you and kill you instantly) and the loop is too boring to be rewarding. (all the enemies have basically the same attack patterns and you can only dash and attack which is not that fun and interesting to grind for exp and gear) it's a real shame too, because i think the game has a charm! it's visuals and gameplay remind me of those 2d slashers from newgrounds and the intro was really fun to play to. (despite the fact that the game does a full 360, going from a slasher horror to a comedic rogue-lite rpg). hell, i even liked the main game a bit until i got stuck, dying from alligators with terrible hitboxe…

Frozen Friday Night: The Eve is a side-scrolling horror roguelite that at first glance may look like some childish girly game because of its colorful visuals, anime characters, and winter cozy atmosphere. But in reality, the game is actually pretty brutal and it has a trashy slasher vibe with lots of blood, gore, ripped-off limbs, and violence. Though if that is not your thing, you can disable gore at the start of the game. The melee combat feels pretty clunky, and early on you will just get killed a lot, so you have to slowly grind money for weapons, healing items, and better equipment. The lack of a map is also noticeable since there are many locations/doors. Overall, I would say it’s just an average game that still managed to surprise me a little with the contrast between its appearance and actual content. Neutral Review. Terrible controls, great deaths. Thumbs up! But it's a very trashy horror game, good luck finishing the first level.

The games being made here are fun time killers with a really cute vibe, but the difficulty needs massive tuning. I can't get past the house part. Landing a single hit on the killer is hard enough with how floaty the controls are. I'd really really like to enjoy this game but being instantly killed by the killer blinking into existing and burying an axe into the back of your skull just isn't that enjoyable. I have no idea how many shotgun shots it takes to down the killer but it seems like it might be the best option, but even in the best case scenario without dodging you get two shots in before you end up in two pieces. Edit: Changing my review to a positive one. I still feel similarly to my initial review, but after putting in much more playtime, I have found that with some things in this game you literally just need to bang your head against the wall until you win. Recommendations for devs: bonfire healing made faster less floaty controls -- make dashing and sprinting seperate functions make it more clear where the content of the currently released game is meant to end. I'm still not quite sure where the end of what is done so far is, and I'm concerned I'm dumping hours into a…
