Please devs take this out of the store so new players don’t get confused. If you are a new player and are interested in this game go and find Galactic Ruler Enlightenment (GRE) instead, which is a re-release of this game with extra features. This one is dead and not receiving further updates. GRE is also not receiving updates in terms of new features and dev say will only receive engine updates and updates on existing features as time permits.10 found this helpful
This game dev / publisher literally will tweak a game ever so slightly then sell that tweak at full price calling it a "new game" They did this with Galactic Ruler -> Galactic Ruler Enlightenment and Supreme Ruler Ultimate -> Supreme Ruler 2030 (and they're re-releasing ALL the dlc from SRU to SR2030). They made good and fun strategy games when they first started but they've not innovated in all these years and now they're being scummy with the little 'updates' they do release.7 found this helpful
Abandoned and then resold as a new copy. Avoid this version if the game looks interesting, it is not a good game though.4 found this helpful
So close to good. Lot of good ideas. This should not be out of beta as it is. Lots of UI gore and needs a lot of QOL updates. Too much clicking to do literally anything. Every action, setting, or choice requires too many clicks and menus. In the menus, some things are obvious and some are very hidden. Clicking on your units is a struggle. Why do I have to click (or rubberband) a unit(s) and then select the unit(s) from a menu? There are 2 options for mouse clicking setup and neither are good. Giving orders is a struggle. (Click then menu then click then menu then click etc). Very buggy. Systems/orders/units just stop working or start doing their own thing sometimes regardless of your settings for it (individual/global/governing). Combat is a mess. Too many units stack on top of each other where you can't see them there seems to be some stacking limit with no explanations. (And why isn't supply and resources numeric instead of just color shading?) And pretty hard to tell what's happening, especially in larger battles. City building and management are underwhelming and the necessary info for these modes is (somehow) under-represented. The AI that control your automat…2 found this helpful
I have played many more hours in Supreme Ruler than I have in this game, but the experience is similar. I feel I am only just scratching the surface of what an amazing game this must be. Scratching, clawing, finally staring at the screen in frustration. At how good it could be. Forever scratching the surface...2 found this helpful
