About Galactic Shipwright

Design the right ship to succeed

Every level in this game has unique challenges and your task is to build the best or funniest ships to accomplish the missions. On some levels, you have to navigate through asteroid or gravity fields, while on others, you have to transfer passengers between stations.

The Ship's Structure

In this game, the ships are not the usual boring rigid machineries. They have some flexibility, so you might want to design your ship to achieve structural integrity, because you can easily lose a part of the ship if you don't build them stable enough.
For further fun, the game has servos so you can build shape shifting ships, too.

Energy System

In Galactic Shipwright, energy is everything. You do not need any fuel or ammunition, but you need to place batteries and power plants into your ships. Make sure that they are carefully placed because if you lose a module, you will lose its capability.
For example, shields are one of the hungriest energy modules in the game right now, but don't worry, you can turn them on and off, one by one.
This way, you can pump all your energy into the front shield if you don't need to worry about your back.

Time control

If you want to control time, you can change the speed of passing time as you like.
In A Nutshell
🔵 Pros + Simple but effective building mechanics. + Varied missions encouraging players to make new designs each time. + Minimalist, clean and polished graphics well-suited for this type of game. + Integrated Workshop support to share and download ship designs. 🔴 Cons - Several grammar and spelling mistakes are present in the English language. - Limited building tools lacking essential features like Undo or Multiple Selection. - Overlapping, annoying sound effects in case of many guns or engines used together. - Pretty small selection of ship parts, weapons and systems. Galactic Shipwright (GS) is a mission-based sandbox game all about designing ships suited for specific tasks, different in each proposed level. After a brief tutorial explaining how building works, you already have unlimited freedom in designing your space vessel: the game poses no limit of blocks or resources as what to create in each mission. This fact can deliver a lot of fun on one side, but also can result unbalanced on the other. Anyway, there are certain factors to consider when building a ship such as energy consumption, mass, structural integrity and most of a…

Amazing graphic. I love block building game such as Terra Tech, Reassembly and others. But I don't like Besiege like building game. This is kind of Beseige like block building game. The diffrence is that Beseige like game is lack of RPG experience unlike Terratech, Reassembly and Captain Forever. Galactic Shipwright has no RPG experience at all.

Hmmm... ?This game has promise, but what i dont like about it is that you can only made flat, sinlge block hieght, ships, which seems bizarre. You basically are making a ship silhouette and thats it :/ flying feels heavy and slow reacting thrusters, you press the forward key, it takes about a second or so to react, and then once key is depressed, the thruster continues onb for the same period of time that there was no reaction that was incurred when you pressed the thruster key. The movement of the ship, alongside the poorly responding keys- verymuch feels like any other game youve played where you can drive or walk on ice- literally feels the same sorta slide affect. I haven played further as i intend to return the game, but immediately, for now, its a no from me, something of which i could tell straight away, even though i love blcok building/ spaceship orienteated games. One block high makes it feel like youre not really making anythin beyond a game intended for small children.

A small nice looking 2D ship building game. While you could say its lacking content (not that many levels) its still quite fun to play. Definitely not perfect or anything but the simple mechanics do make it easy to understand. While it is focused on building ships for each level, you can get away with using the same ship on multiple levels, but modifying them to make it more appropriate for the level's task does help and building a new ship is more fun. Although it is 2D (which is nicer for things like seeing every functional part on a ship at once) there is a paint system, some moving parts (servo things) and a bunch of armour block shapes, so you can still try to make a nice looking ship while playing each level. After finishing the levels, though, you might not play the game again since there's probably not that many sandbox ship ideas you can have.
