I went into this game with very low expectations. Like… underground level lol. I had already read a ton of negative reviews (and there are many), but once I started digging into the positive ones, I noticed a fairly big update that supposedly improved the game a lot. And that was what finally convinced me to give it a chance. I honestly had a hard time deciding whether this should be a positive or negative review at first. Normally, I only write reviews after finishing a game. But I just couldnt wait this time. I am actually legit excited to discover what else the game has to offer. This is a very slow paced farming sim, so I will strongly recommend focusing on maxing out friendships with the NPCs early on! A lot of the story, quests, and unlocks are tied to those relationships, and that ia really where the game starts to shine. My favorite NPC so far is Lily the frog 🐸 And no, not just because she is a frog (although that is a huge bonus haha). Her personal story genuinely surprised me, and in the best way. Unfortunately, this game is missing invert mouse - Y axis options. I figured I would wait for an update, but it's been over a year and a half and it's still missing. I was told back when I first asked for the feature that it was on the internal tracker. I asked about it again, just to received an AI-written response stating that it wasn't planned. Unfortunately, I think it's too late to refund it - I think I won't risk waiting on this sort of thing in the future.

I had this game on my list for a long time and was really excited for it, but when I opened it up to play, I was met with a very cute, very buggy, very confusing game. Items images are often glitched out, I've lost items more than once because they simply disappeared when I was holding them which costs materials and sometimes coins, the ground glitched out often so I would have to just run on invisible platforms in the sky. There's very little instruction and to find out most things, I had to search for other people's guides which ended up with spoilers I didn't want, but there's nowhere to find out in the game what comes next or if you're missing something or if a shop will expand or how. I understand there's an element of just 'try things out and play the game' but if you just do the same thing for a long time, it gets tedious, especially if you see no progress. The animal mechanic of them just showing up to your farm as the land heals is so cute and wonderful but it's a significant investment to get their houses for them to actually produce anything and some of those things don't have any clear use for a long time, some animals are able to be named and others aren't.
