A much easier game to play than it's successor, Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2.1 found this helpful
damn son this game expensive af lol i do have to say it is currently the most in depth grand strat game i own.. but tbh its not really that complicated, but its def not hex of steel"great game as well btw" its very very in depth. im kinda disappointed that i have to use the arrows instead of wasd and also figured out to zoom in a particular spot on the map u need to click or highlight a hex in that area. i got it for like 25. worth every penny. but $80? idk man.. thats a lot of money lol but def an awesome must have if u can afford it
hardcore eastern front game, v realistic and loads of depth, thoroughly recomended

From the very first turn, it makes clear that this is not a casual strategy title but a deep, uncompromising war simulation designed for players who want to engage with history at a granular operational scale. The scope of War in the East is staggering. The map stretches across thousands of hexes, covering nearly the entire Eastern European theater, with each hex representing roughly ten miles of terrain and each turn equating to a week of real time. Players command thousands of units at th…
