a perfect Alice, an imperfect Maria Geminism is, just like the protagonists of our story, atypical - It's a short, quirky, strange but most importantly captivating visual novel. From the moment I started reading I was immediately allured by the sheer unconventionality of the novel itself, both in terms of general structure and story - The visuals are great, the VA work is fantastic, carried mostly by our two male protagonists whom you might recognise from other novels, and the soundtrack is very, very good. Thematically, dualism and the the general conception of there being two sides to the same coin is extremely pervasive throughout the novel, Geminism mainly explores themes of identity and individuality and how these fundamentally human feelings relate to the conditions that are irrevocably set in stone for us upon the moment of our birth - We can either trascend these notions entirely, or sink into it them and assimilate them as what they are. I don't know who I'd recommend this VN to as I wouldn't particularly say it exceeds in any single field, it's just that odd - But I think that's what makes it all the more better to me, and that notion in itself speaks more ab…

Oh man, I loved this story.!! It hit all the right spots for me right down to the humor. The concept, storytelling, voice acting, sprites, art, and even the UI are all great! There is no annoying incel self-insert protagonist in this one-- It follows a group of 4 people in their respective pairs, each character deeply human, unique and loveable :) Don't run in with your hand in your pants expecting something from the "H-scenes", because they are definitely meant to support the story. I also found them to be mediocre but extremely FUNNY!! I wish I could go back to before I read this masterpiece because I finished it off feeling like I hadn't had enough of it (completed in a little under 14 hours, skipping a lot of overlap in the second story), so my only complaint is that it ended + I miss everyone now :( Solid 9/10

Geminism is a psychological horror visual novel developed by CRAFTWORK and published by Shiravune that delivers a deeply unsettling narrative centered around identity, obsession, trauma, and emotional instability. Marking the long-awaited return of the studio behind Sayonara wo Oshiete, the game immediately establishes itself as a dark and surreal experience that prioritizes atmosphere and psychological tension over traditional storytelling comfort. Rather than presenting a straightforward mystery or romance, Geminism embraces ambiguity and emotional discomfort, creating a narrative that feels haunting long after it ends. The story unfolds within a shadowy version of Tokyo where two sets of twins become entangled in a disturbing chain of events involving hidden motives, emotional dependency, and violent confrontations. From the opening scenes, the game creates an overwhelming sense of mystery as strange figures move through the city’s nighttime streets while cryptic conversations hint at deeper psychological conflicts beneath the surface. The narrative slowly reveals fragments of truth rather than offering direct explanations, encouraging players to piece together the relationship…
