Geologic is a clever puzzle game with well-designed mechanics that gradually introduce interesting complexity through three shape types with distinct movement rules across 200 levels. Players appreciate the engaging core gameplay and appropriate difficulty curve, though some feel the presentation and UI could be more polished, and the level-skipping system that costs points rather than providing free tokens is frustrating.
geologic is a simple but clever puzzler featuring 3 shapes with their own set of rules and the dream of reaching their respective exits on 200 chessboard-like levels. they're unlocked one by one, 140 in normal mode, 60 in the so-called billy mode (see below), but both game modes are available from the start. squares are easy street, his friends are trickier. triangles are the size of half a square and can only move in a direction if they're touching that side of their tile. they can flip over within the same square and moving also makes them change position. e.g. if they occupy the lower-right half (or however you wanna say it), the only options are down and right, and after moving down they'll take up the upper-right half and can go either up or right next time. it's hard to explain (for me anyway) but it makes sense while you're playing. their goal is also a triangle, so simply reaching that tile isn't enough, gotta face the right way. also, moving two triangles onto the same tile, facing the right way, turns them into a square. circles (or balls, I guess) are somewhere between the two complexity-wise, as they simply roll …13 found this helpful
Enjoyable game. The puzzles are somewhat difficult, but not too difficult. What it sometimes lacks in presentation and UI, it makes up for in gameplay. The only thing I would like to see changed, is another system for skipping levels. Now you need to use points, that you lose to skip a level with. I would prefer to get a skip token every x many levels and then be able to get that back once I solve the level that I skipped.
Casual game where you solve logic puzzles that involve moving shapes with different properties around a grid (squares move one space, circles 'roll' until they hit something, triangles can flip or even combine with another triangle to make a square), to get the shapes to a 'home base'. There is a setting to make the screen larger.
