About Gerda: A Flame in Winter
February 1945. The war is almost over but your fight is about to begin. You play Gerda Larsen, a young nurse who is torn between her community and her desperate quest to save her husband, Anders. Many other lives will come to depend on your decisions.
Gerda’s journey will involve moral dilemmas, difficult conversations, and sticky situations. It’s a dangerous world and you must help her adapt to it with the choices you make, which always have both short- and long-term consequences.
If you give away precious resources to somebody who needs them now, will you come to regret it later? Will there be consequences if you, as a nurse, help a person who is suffering even though they may later cause suffering to others?
Make the most of what you have: your personality points, your allegiances, and your resources. Your relationship with people and factions will determine how your story unfolds. Level up Gerda’s mental skills by reflecting on her experiences in her diary to gain personality skill points. Use these skills during events and conversations to unlock special actions, gain others’ trust, or keep them from suspecting you.
You can choose where to explore and when – but do so wisely, as people move around and events can be time sensitive. As you investigate and make progress, your choices will send you down many different narrative paths. Will you do whatever it takes to save Anders, or will you cling fiercely to your morals? Your actions will lead to several poignant conclusions and change the fate of your community in Gerda: A Flame in Winter.

Don't Nod delivered a beautifully interactive story once again. I am so glad to have experienced it and highly recommend other to do the same!3 found this helpful
Such a specific slice of WW2 European strife. I dated a man from this region for several years so seeing it come to life in a game is really interesting to me. Also, it's very moving, sad, and fun to play.1 found this helpful
A hard game to review I liked this one uiet alot. The game has alot of choices, witch again seems to have a lot of variables. Alot of hard choices that seems to influence other choices down the line. They are hard and difficult to make. And you almost feel like no matter waht you make there are just alot of bad choices. But, again is a game set during ww2 so is bleak. So is the story, so is the atmosphere, so is the dialogue. The dialogue is good. The characters is fine too. And you just have to live with some bad choices. The setting is good. I like that is ww2 game without any of the normal combat. That no matter what you do some bad things will happen There some ok twist too here. The music is good All in all i liked the gameplay, that you can read about stuff during that period. That you can build up relatinship with different people and factions. That you get clues. A great game.
This is a beautiful, short game with a simple but powerful story. The gameplay is similarly simple, but is an improvement on the standard point-and-click adventure or pure choose-your-adventure format. I also enjoyed the art style and the voice acting. I highly recommend it, especially if you can get it on sale.
