About Gerty

You are a member of an elite mercenary group. A mining colony of critical importance has become under attack by a hostile alien force. Armed to the teeth and equipped with your trusty laser-diggers, you must fight your way to the depths of the planet, find the source of the alien threat and eliminate it. Will you make it out alive?

Gerty is a top-down rogue-lite twin-stick shooter with fully destructible environment. Carve your own path through replayable procedurally generated levels and create tactically advantageous situations to eliminate the alien threat in intense, tough but fair, action packed gameplay. Mine Juice crystals to upgrade your gear, discover alien structures, and eliminate the source of the alien threat in singleplayer or local co-op mode.

Features:

 • Test your mettle in skill based combat and try to avoid clutches of permanent death. Adjust the level of challenge to your liking with 5 difficulty levels and advanced settings.
 • Choose between 4 different characters all with unique skills and style of play. Further customize your character during your run with perks and purchasable gear.
 • Explore collapsed Juice mines that are teeming with alien life and structures. Interact with abandoned infrastructure, alien runes and altars.
 • Unlock new gear and characters with each tightly packed run. Ramp up the difficulty and brave the dangers once again!

Is this game underrated or what? Unsung successor to Crimsonland and Sigma's Alien/Zombie shooter, probably the only roguelike that appeals to a sane person, and not the kind that would grind for 300 hours in Binding of Isaac or what-else. Despite being a pretty "bad" roguelite (not having a lot of content), it makes up for being a REALLY fun arena shooter with a spin, you have to dig through your own arena, which is already a good gameplay alternative to having an open field or backwardly running out of a tunnel, Serious Sam convention style. Sometimes you can run straight to the exit portal, sometimes the game asks you to perform a special task of shooting the red beacons, or pressing the panel first. There are even extra tasks in each room, and two special rooms in total of 2 worlds, that ask you to survive the horde, in which you can stay indefinitely, as waves progressively get harder and harder. You can get extra experience, based on how long you stay . On top of your regular "speed", "health" and "damage" stats, you now have digging speed, which varies from character to character. Did i mention this game has 4 characters? Now, the basic one that you start …

Surprisingly fun roguelike. Environments are similar, so you really never feel like you've made much in the way of progress despite the flashy screen that tells you you're moving on to the next area. Combat gets better as you upgrade your character, and it's a bit more fun when you've got another player with you.

Everything is fine with the gameplay but its impossible to play in coop using xbox one/s gamepads + xbox 360 gamepads at the same time. The control constantly bugging - the game recognizes some buttons pressed when they are not. Can u fix the control pls...

I feel like I'm playing something from the late 90's / early 00's that was unfairly ignored at the time. This is a fun action experience with that spice of digging tunnels that means the map is something you contribute to.
