About Gloomy Eyes
In a world plunged into eternal night and torn by conflict between the living and the undead, one faint glimmer of hope still flickers in the hearts of two special souls. Gloomy Eyes tells the tale of Gloomy, a sweet zombie boy, and Nena, a mischievous human girl, who defy the rules by teaming up and embarking on a quest to bring back the daylight.
Control both Gloomy and Nena in a completely single-player experience, switching between characters to solve brain-teasing environmental puzzles. Each character brings their own set of abilities, and you'll need the skills and quirks of both to progress through this delightfully wretched darkness.
Step into a world where the macabre meets the magical. Inspired by the art style of Tim Burton, Gloomy Eyes offers a lovingly crafted universe brimming with spooky charm, eerie beauty, and heartwarming gloom. No gore or jump scares to test your nerves, just a whimsical haunting atmosphere that will pull at your undead heartstrings.
Gather round for a heartwarmingly bleak fairy tale of necromantic adventure, as told by the old gravekeeper. While the living and the undead are squabbling something fierce, two unlikely souls meet and become one another's closest companions. But for any hope of a cheery forever after, they must set off on a journey together to find the sun and restore its light to the world.
Each level is a stunning, handcrafted rotatable diorama, overflowing with visual macabre charm and ghoulishly delightful details. Explore these miniature worlds from multiple angles as you uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and play out a story of a love that should never be.

What Steam players say

Gloomy Eyes charms players with its Tim Burton-inspired aesthetic, touching Romeo-and-Juliet-style story, and clever dual-character puzzle mechanics that work well together. However, players frequently report frustrating character-collision bugs that force chapter restarts, and many feel the short 3-4 hour playtime doesn't justify the $20 price tag, recommending waiting for a sale.
The game has so much potential — if you love Little Nightmares, you will think this game is for you. But upon playing it, I realized it really has nothing to do with Little Nightmares. The visuals are amazing and the story is good, but unfortunately the execution is kinda bad. The gameplay is really slow and there are many bugs — sometimes you need to restart the chapter if the character gets stuck. The puzzles aren't obvious, which is great, but some of them are so sparse that it isn't fun figuring them out given how slow the character walks. Perhaps that adds to the coziness of the game, and that might just not be for everyone.2 found this helpful
I absolutely loved this game! The atmosphere and story telling was so engaging. The story of the little girl Nina and the Zombie Kid trying to find the sun and escape her uncle could just as easily be a child's tale that even adult can enjoy. The gameplay is easy to pick up though you definitely want to use a controller. The puzzles where interesting and required thought, but were not ever frustrating. You switch between the two children who each have their own unique abilities. It reminded me of the Shady Part of Me. I highly recommend this game which can be completed in just under four hours.
why doesnt cloud save work between Mac/SteamDeck?
It's a relatively easy game, with a cute little story to back it up. Graphics are nice. It's one of my all-time favorites, because it's not the same old tale of us versus killer zombies. There is some very minor violence, but no blood and gore. Highly recommend, if you want a relaxing, easy (maybe too easy) game, but that's what I like about it.
Quick little puzzle game. I finished in 4 hours. 14 diorama like levels. Each of the characters had different abilities to manipulate and move through the level. I need to go back and get some of the collectables I missed. I saw where some of the collectables were but ended up at the end of the level instead. Macabre but cute character designs. My main complaint was the music. There was only one track that played on repeat throughout. I got stuck in the level geometry a few times. Restarting the level fixed getting stuck, but the check points were sometimes far back. At one point I lost the firefly lantern. I had to restart to get it to reset back into the level. I recommend the game for it's dark and gloomy atmosphere. I
This game was so fun to play. I loved the storyline and how you can play as both Gloomy and Nena. If you like games with an interesting story and want a challenge, then try this game- I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
