About Goat's Tale 2

Goat's Tale 2 is a game in the genre of precision platformers and is a sequel to the very well-received part one (over 40 thousand downloads and 84% positive reviews on Steam!). As in its predecessor, the player's main goal is to get to the top, but thanks to completely new mechanics as well as improved physics, this task should be a bit easier.
Overview
-New Mechanics
Many new mechanics have been added to the game, like the air current, in which our brave goat can move in 4 directions. Or special rock shelves that she can grab onto to slide down quietly without bouncing off walls. More graphic effects have also been added, for example, the player can choose between two graphic palettes.

-World Exploration
Goat's Tale 2 puts much more emphasis on exploration than its predecessor. At each stage, you can find buried treasures or npc's who will advise you on how to get over the more difficult jumps and drop a penny for their help.

-Cooperate with friends
The game features an all-new mode that allows you to cooperate together in passing levels. The second player takes on the role of a special helper, who can put up platforms that the first player can jump on, making it easier to pass the game's more difficult stages.

Goat's Tale 2 is:
- A new bigger adventure.
- Even more immersive gameplay.
- Great music.
- Fun with friends..
- Beautiful pixel art graphics..
- Challenge only the best players..

Players appreciate the game's charming pixel art, catchy retro soundtrack, and cute character designs, with some enjoying it as an accessible entry point to the "Getting Over It" genre. However, opinions are divided on difficulty and controls—some find it too easy while others struggle with clunky mechanics, lack of feedback for jump power and aiming direction, and tedious punishment for missing jumps that forces lengthy climbs back up. The core concept shows promise, but improvements to control precision and quality-of-life features like checkpoints and clearer aiming indicators would signifi

RATING • Not for me 2/10 • Devs, please apply improvements suggested STEAM DECK • Runs well • Not perfect due to control indications, but no issues found POSITIVES • Beautiful pixel art • Nice old vibes OST NEGATIVES • Controls are clunky • Jump intensity has no bar to indicate power, so you cannot have precision while game demands it • No arrow to indicate where you are aiming • Miss one jump and you have to see your character rolling the whole level down and then do it all again (don't know if it takes longer to climb up or fall down) • Character is too small on screen • Way too slow paced POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS • Power bar to indicate jump strengh (copy Gunbound) • Include arrow to indicate where you are aiming (copy Gunbound) • Save points every one or two screens to which you can teleport to once reached (no value in replay as it is very slow paced) • Include animations for character movement (this would be extra) OBSERVATION I just played the first stage, because the issues were so bad that it felt simply as a no fun waste of time CONCLUSION This game has potential, but too many issues. As is, the game is clunky and no fun. Apply the improvements suggested and I may like…1 found this helpful
Interesting potential as a precise platformer -- there's some cool Quality of Life stuff, multiple maps, and the character designs are cute! If you like this style of game, this will be more of what you love!1 found this helpful
It's a very fun game, maybe a little too easy for me, but I had fun. Goats have a very nice design, graphics and music are also cool. There is nothing to fault, I recommend.1 found this helpful
Overall the game is good. The controls are responsive, the graphics are nice, the music is also very good. I haven't encountered any major errors. The only downside is that the game is too easy for some reason. Games of this type should be super hard and here it looks like developers decide in half the work to made game easier. Why? Idk but it's worth playing, especially if you're just starting to play this type of games.
