Godly Corp is an older game from 2018. It's a venerable 6 years old at the time of this review. Hot off the heels of the middling success of "Surgeon Simulator", we get "Godly Corp", a little ripoff that follows the same game architecture... you're presented with simple tasks and deliberately awkward, bad controls. Sure, you're a tentacle monster instead of a surgeon, and you're doing "world control deity" stuff, but the overall gameplay isn't so different. It seems clever when you see the concept, but philosophically it's a poor decision when you can't make the gameplay or the narrative engaging and instead you decide to make the controls for the game bad on purpose. Games should feel good to play, not awful. Unlike Surgeon Simulator, this didn't go viral, but I don't think that failure was because of the direct technical implementation in this case, but just poor game conceptualisation. The market didn't want a big reskin of Surgeon Simulator. For what it's worth I found the humour in the game was okay, but a game needs a lot more than quirkiness to succeed. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely mad…5 found this helpful
THE KRAKEN RISES!!!!!!!
Godly Corp is a deliberately absurd simulation game developed by TR8 Torus Studios and published by SIG Publishing that leans hard into chaos, satire, and intentionally awkward design. At its core, the game casts the player as a lowly intern inside a bizarre, corporate bureaucracy that quite literally governs the fate of planets. The joke is immediate and clear: even godlike power can be reduced to meaningless office labor, and the player’s role is less divine overseer and more overwhelmed employee barely holding things together. This satirical framing sets the tone for an experience that values humor, unpredictability, and frustration-as-comedy over polish or precision. The most defining feature of Godly Corp is its control scheme. Rather than giving players direct, reliable control over their actions, the game forces all interaction through a single, physics-driven tentacle. This tentacle must be used to grab objects, press buttons, fend off threats, and complete increasingly ridiculous tasks, often all at once. The result is a constant struggle between intent and execution, where even simple actions can spiral into slapstick disasters. This design is clearly intentional, echoin…
I like tentacle hent4i <3
Funny game, at first you have to get used to the tentacle movement, but after 5-10 minutes it is natural for the player. A lot of humor and funny references have been added to the game. If you want to just have fun or laugh a bit, you will like this game!
Worth buying.
