The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by an implacable horde of orcs.
King Rhobar II, in need of a large quantity of magical ore in order to forge powerful weapons, operates the Khorinis mines with all available prisoners.
To prevent them from escaping, the monarch asks his best magicians to create a magical barrier. But something goes wrong. The magic gets out of control and a mutiny turns the mines into a wild territory now controlled by the most violent prisoners.
The King is forced to negotiate with the new owners, while the tension between the different factions of the mines increases. What no one expects is that the arrival of an unknown prisoner will change absolutely everything.

I can't really express how this teaser is awful and how it is the opposite of things that made Gothic series great. This is total crap. Boring and unplayable. Game starts slow, lot of cut-scenes and talk. Diego is pretentious douchebag who talks like wine sommelier, your character is forced into quests - like, you can't explore and find weapon of choice, you must fight with broken sword so you can complete the quest to get normal sword... Fantastic idea, right?7 found this helpful
PLAY THE DEMO NYRAS PROLOG IF YOU WANT AN ACTUAL REPRESENTATION OF THE NEW GAME! The teaser was a proof of concept, instead of releasing trailers or making false promises the devs put out this playable proof of concept. It isn't polished, its ugly, its not representable for what the game stands. But it did its job perfectly in sparking interest in the New Gothic Game. The devs listened to the voices of the fans and made a Demo for the actual Game which looks, feels and plays much better. Go check it out. Its free.3 found this helpful
Main character is constantly talking, and that's annoying as hell. And he's a bloody coward. Also invisible walls. The hell? The Gothic Spirit is free exploring. And now we have a corridor gameplay. That's absolutely, definitely not the Gothic3 found this helpful
As a fan of the original Gothic, this teaser is a mixed bag that left me cautiously optimistic but genuinely concerned. The visuals are stunning and the world has real atmosphere, but the protagonist won't stop talking — every two steps he's narrating the obvious like a Deadpool wannabe who forgot to bring the charm. Diego feels completely off from the rough mentor I remember, and the combat system is clunky enough that I'd hesitate to buy a full release with it unchanged. That said, what impresses me most is that the developers released this specifically to gather community feedback rather than just shipping something half-baked, and that kind of approach deserves recognition. If they actually address the dialogue, combat responsiveness, and stay truer to the dark, unforgiving tone of the original, this could genuinely become a worthy remake of one of the greatest RPGs ever made.1 found this helpful
Unplayable and not at all true to the original! The Intro is completely different from Gothic I and the Character is constantly talking. It's so annoying, I had to quit this thing within a minute.1 found this helpful
thank u for dying so we can get a real remake
