SACRED - The new name in Action-RPGs. SACRED delivers a huge, elaborate world comprising 16 regions beset with heroic quests, battle-hardened warriors and horrific enemies. Ancaria consists of highly detailed landscapes, complete with villages and towns, and also features a day/night cycle with varying weather systems. Regions vary from forests and mountains to deserts, catacombs and ice-covered landmasses. More than three quarters of the world is open to the players from the very start - no unlocks needed.
SACRED Plus - Incorporates all of the feedback from the player community since the first release of SACRED. This includes an optimized interface, and many completely new features: two new regions, two additional main quests, new item sets and weapons, and many new creature types which make adventuring in Ancaria even more dangerous.
SACRED Underworld - Ancaria is facing a threat far greater than ever before. The now familiar world continues to evolve, with existing SACRED players able to import their old characters into the Underworld.
- Choose from eight heroic characters: Gladiator, Seraphim, Battlemage, Wood Elf, Vampiress, Daemon, and Dwarf.
- Hundreds of unique weapons, armors and set items - collect artifacts and forge all-powerful weapons!
- Learn Combat Arts, develop new skills, and customize devastating combo-attacks.
- A huge world open to explore from the outset.
- An epic RPG and enthralling storyline with over 30 main quests & 200 sub-quests and dynamic quests.

Diablo made the genre famous. Titan Quest and Grim Dawn kept it alive on borrowed engines and borrowed lore. Sacred did the one thing none of them ever quite nailed: it holds up. Distinct armor sets, a genuine "you leveled up" visual payoff, damage types with clear tells on how to counter them, followers and pets with actual dedicated heal shortcuts, and a backpack big enough to function like an inventory instead of a math problem. Small things, but things nobody after it bothered replicating properly. It's not without its own sins. Potions don't stack, so half your backpack is just red flasks doing nothing but existing. No mana, no stamina, just cooldowns, which technically makes this more hack'n'slash than RPG, and pushes you toward gear that shaves cooldowns until your combat rhythm looks like a nervous tic. Graphics are charmingly quirky rather than good, and age has not been kind to the writing. Here's the hard part: I can't recommend playing this in 2026. The engine barely survives on modern Windows without DirectX fights and random freezes, RebornHD helps but doesn't fix the core problem, and even fully patched, this is a 2004 game standing next to Diablo IV and PoE2, genuin…1 found this helpful

Better than any of the Diablos in my opinion. Unfortunately the Steam version makes you lose hours of progress regularly, as the game keeps crashing on saving and corrupting data.
Old but good! :D
An extremely fun ARPG that is quite addicting. I like that it gives you extensive capabilities in customizing your own character and how you'd like to shape them. The levelling speed feels just right and it's enthralling to stumble upon really good loot randomly or as quest rewards. There's tons of interesting lore in the form of scrolls everywhere that allow you to get as involved in the narrative/world building elements as you'd like to. The quests are pretty straightforward, go here and rescue this person, go kill x enemies, go find this amulet in these ruins, they may seem boilerplate now but these are very typical of the genre at the time. Having never really played the original and enjoying Sacred 2 I highly recommend this for any fan of old school ARPGs like Diablo, Divinity or Torchlight, it's pretty much constantly filled with action and makes you want to try to clear out just one more dungeon. The sound design and voice acting are also a nice touch!
The best game 😎
