Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition

As someone who didn't play GTA Vice City until now, this version is absolutely worth getting. And as someone who *loathed* GTA III for its insane difficulty spikes, insane police AI, and overall frustrating missions, Vice City really is incredible. The story, gameplay, and mechanics are leaps and bounds better than GTA III, which leaves me stunned as this game came out only a year after GTA III. Anyway, do yourself a favor and play this game before GTA VI comes out, as this is an incredibly fun open world with lots of fun shenanigans, wacky and zany supporting characters, and some action that feels far ahead of its time.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is an incredible game for the time, still great to this day, and an insane step up just one year after Grand Theft Auto III. Everything they introduced in the previous title has been turned up to 11 and tons of other content has been added. To me this is the second best in the series (GTA VI is not out yet as the time of writing this, so I can't speak for this one), and the first "real" GTA game as we've come to expect them to be. The story is basically the movie Scarface, but you get to live it, rise from a grunt to be at the top of the pack. The musics are so good (please get the mod that puts back the 25 tracks that they had to remove due to licencing issues), the atmosphere too (also keep the original lighting, I switched between the original and the new one a few times just to compare, and yes you can see that the new one is more realistic, but the original one has so much more vibrant colors and vibe). I'm replaying all GTA games in order before GTA VI releases, and I'm loving it, because I can see the improvements to the formula, one game after another. This game is as fun today as 20 years ago, just a timeless classic. Runs great, looks wonderful, what more could you ask for. The trip down memory lane was exquisite, would definitely recommend.

[h3]Still My Favorite GTA[/h3] Good old Vice City once again reminded me why it’s still my favorite GTA. The 80s, Miami, neon lights, sunsets, music, storytelling... for me, this game is simply a masterpiece. Considering when it originally came out and how massive the jump in storytelling was compared to GTA III, I’m still impressed by what Rockstar managed to achieve. A lot of the original issues have been fixed, the controls feel much better, and overall it’s simply more comfortable to play on modern hardware. Great step-up from GTA 3, improved in every single way. Has aged very well and is very enjoyable, i recommend it alot. Great characters, great story, and superb soundtrack.
