Gravebound (2025)

[h1] Roguelike arena shooter. Skeletons, flying coffins, gargoyles will sniff and puff behind your neck. Fairly easy and super short, can be completed in 15 minutes. Visuals are nice and remind of games like Ziggurat. Unfinished game pretty much, would like to see full release with more exploration, boss battles and more weapons. [/h1]

Fantastic game. The sound design and graphics are great, the gameplay's smooth, and all three weapons and their upgrades are fun and interesting to use. There's not quite enough variety to make the game super replayable, but I definitely a lot of fun playing through to the end and fully unlocking all three upgrade paths.

Fun free game worth extra hours if needed for the 100%.

Gravebound is a really fun little fantasy shooter that I enjoyed much more than I expected. The idea of exploring an ancient crypt while fighting waves of magical guardians immediately gives it a strong dark fantasy atmosphere, but what really kept me playing was how well the shooting and roguelike progression work together. It has that satisfying feeling of becoming more powerful during a run while knowing that the enemies are going to keep getting tougher. The combat is built around first person arena shooting, and I found it surprisingly enjoyable. I move around the arenas, dodge attacks and use magical weapons to deal with enemies coming from different directions. The controls are straightforward, which lets me focus on positioning and surviving rather than worrying about complicated inputs. As the pressure increases, I have to pay much more attention to where I am standing and which enemies need to be dealt with first. The progression is probably my favorite part. During a run I can gain experience and collect artifacts that improve my abilities, weapons and overall build. I liked making those choices because the upgrades can completely change how comfortable a run feels. A …

Had a lot of fun with this. Definitely worth the price of admission =)
