GT Racing 1980

"GT Racing 1980" is a solid, action-packed retro arcade racer heavily inspired by the top-down racing games of the 80s and 90s. A friend of mine bought a Fanatical bundle that included this game. He's not a racing game guy; but, he knows that I am so he gave me the key. I'm not sure if I should check the "Received product for free" box or not because I received it for free; but, it was not given to me by the developer or publisher. Somebody paid for it. With that out of the way, I have a few thoughts to share. It's not a perfect game by any stretch; but, it is a fun game. I've put a little over 12 hours into it so far and I've pretty much beaten it. I've unlocked and bought all the cars. I've won all three Divisions, beat all the Rivals, and conquered all of the Invitational races. It only started getting boring within the last hour, and that consisted of me replaying a few things trying to figure out why the Achievement didn't work. What kind of retro game doesnt even allow for keyboard controls in the main menu? The ugly AI "art" and cheap, zero effort menu graphics are atrocious. I'm furious I even own this game. I'd give this game a million negative reviews if I could.

Wow, this game is trash. First of all , you get some AI generated faces that look extremely glossy overlayed with clunky, boxy GUI in all the main menus. The music is so repetitive and lame, and the races are extremely boring, requiring virtually no effort or challenge or even really any room to improve either. This game screams "unit asset flip". I paid eighty cents for this, and I feel robbed. Edit: Btw, When I started the game, the speedometer only read -2 million miles per hour. Bruh. And the only achievement is called test_achievement. This game's poor quality makes me convulsed with rage.
