Game complexity: Turn-based strategy game with team building. Game Difficulty: Medium to hard. Every hero and every enemy have different stats and abilities. Achievements Complexity: Complete the game, complete a challenge map and do some extra actions. Achievements Difficulty: The last chapter and the challenge map were kinda hard. And for some extra actions you will need a little luck and to do some calculations to achieve them.

Guards II: Prologue is a focused tactical RPG that demonstrates how a relatively small collection of mechanics can create battles that demand careful planning. Developed by Battlecruiser Games and published by HeroCraft PC, it serves as a self-contained introduction to a larger adventure while still providing enough tactical substance to stand on its own. Instead of overwhelming the player with complicated systems, it concentrates on positioning, character abilities, enemy behavior, and anticipating the consequences of every action. The defining feature is its unusual approach to turn-based combat. Players control a party of four heroes and swap their positions to trigger attacks and respond to threats. Guards II: Prologue is a free turn based strategy game that caught me off guard because the battles are much more focused than I expected. I control a team of four heroes and have to fight through demons and other creatures while making careful decisions about every move. The main idea is pretty simple. I swap between my heroes to attack, defend and use their abilities, but the game makes every position matter. I cannot just walk forward and hit whatever is closest because one bad move can leave me in a really bad situation. The combat is easily the best part for me. Each of the four heroes has a different fighting style, different attacks and different resistances, so I have to think about who should actually be doing the work in each fight. I can move one hero into position, switch to another and use them to attack from somewhere else, which gives the battles a nice rhythm. I also like that the enemies are dangerous enough that I have to plan ahead instead of just waiting for my turn and picking the strongest attack. A lot of the time I am looking at the whole battlefield and thinking about what I need to do several moves from now. The artifacts and runes give me another reason…
