Actually not bad NES like game with plenty of exploration and platforming. Many different buildings to enter and dozens of enemies to beat up. Sell coins, diamonds, rubies and buy equipment upgrades. Higher jump, bigger satchels, better ground control and plenty of weapons and other things. Each level have its own boss at the end. Stages are different and have splitting parts, despite simple visuals it's solid 8-bit experience. One question remains unsolved, if original NES would be able to run such game... Nonetheless music is nice and you gonna like it so are the sounds. Turn on some CRT filters in options and you're set. Interesting and definitely not crap.

5/10
This is certainly a game. It's not bad, but it's not really good either. I think I got this from a humble monthly bundle way back and never played it. Honestly, I wasn't really missing out on much. It's old and nostaligic-ish, but as someone who actually grew up with the games this is trying to emulate, it just doesn't really get what made those old games special. The game very much just uses the "idea" of the NES without any of the actual game design that went into those old NES games. I really wish there was a neutral option on Steam for games specifically like this one. There just isn't really anything to say about it. For me, looking at the price tag, I'm giving this a thumbs-down. It is just not worth the $6. There are longer, better, and more "NES accurate" games out there for less and even free. itch.io is a great place to find NES-like games for $1 or free with many of them being incredible experiences if you get one suited to your tastes.

The game's goal is to make an authentic NES-experience. It achieves it in recreating the worst of the NES. The graphics are weak, even by NES standards. The gameplay is repetitive and the story is almost non-existent.

Wow, what a garbage. These "developers" probably never played any platformers in their lives. Just pass.

This game is not inherently bad, however, it has inherently bad design choices. Example, there are enemy placements which make them hard, if not impossible, to be able to dodge and do a no hit run. There is not enough money in one run, unless you know beforehand, that you need lava immunity in order to not take damage in the final dungeon. There are flying enemies that make it extremely hard to not take damage and fall. There are enemies place specifically in some spots to knock you back into instant death spikes. There are enemies placed in such ways that they can hit you off screen for damage. The game wants you to take damage, and will go out of its way to do so. The lives system is, in essence, not even needed, as you can just continue anyway, only you lose progress. It's an artifact of the time it's trying to emulate, but without the actual punishment of no continues by virtue of having a save system. The game is short, very much so if you know what you're doing. Even without it, you will get maybe 3 hours, if that, from the game, more if you're going for beating it under 30 minutes and keep messing up. This is not to say it's a bad thing, it's just something to keep in min…

When they say classic platformer action, they mean it literally. If this was on a cartridge, I'd blow on it.
