About Hand of Hexes
Hand of Hexes is a no-text deckbuilder and tower defense game where you control the enemies' paths by constructing deadly mazes – using towers with crazy attack patterns. Create a perfect deck of exotic towers and magical spells that boost your defenses or slay your enemies!
- Each run is unique with different decks, encounters, and levels
- There is no text and no descriptions - find out what each tower and spell does through trial and error
- Make your way across a variety of procedural maps - and do it again, but harder
- In Hand of Hexes towers have unique attack patterns: they might only shoot in one direction, circle projectiles or launch fierce bees
- Position your towers to guide the enemies through deadly mazes
- Buff your towers via spell cards

A bit of an early review from what I usually do; I recommend this game. Played around an hour and I am enjoying myself so far. Completed the first "run" of the game and intend to go further. There are lots to complete! It was fun to figure stuff out just by looking at the art without any text, and I personally find the art style cute. That being said, I did feel like I was sometimes spamming a bit too much. Maybe later levels ramp up the difficulty to not encourage spamming. Overall, the first run was quite easy. Beyond that, the only big downside is lack of controller support, so while the game runs perfectly on a Linux handheld with Proton, it's awkward to play.1 found this helpful
Just an adorable Tower Defense game. I love fishing around and finding out what each tower does and learning which combinations of passives each one has goes well together. The art is adorable, and the levels of pulverizing little plague doctors and knights into (unseen but imagined) meat piles with a frog or porcupine is very amusing. I have no problem with the lack of written direction or instructions, though if you're someone who really wants detailed explanations this game is very reliant on figuring it out as you play with no written tutorial, (notably, there is a visualized tutorial when you start your first run), though I've found it's pretty easy to figure everything out by just trying it once or twice. and I've personally been finding that aspect of it really fun and makes me want to try new things out as they come along. Overall it's a delightful TD game that I feel a lot of heart went into making. Also you can pet the cat, so big W!!!
It's a great game, but there are a few issues
1. During combat, the interface is very cluttered, and I often can't see where my mouse pointer is. Could you please optimize the mouse pointer so that I can see it more easily? 2. There is a bug. When I am on the level selection interface and want to return to the main interface, clicking is ineffective. And if I press Esc to return to the main interface at this time, clicking with the mouse pointer has no effect. Please fix it as soon as possible.
i did a full run locked in, not even a video playing in the background. this is so fun
Honestly I prefer this to StS. great combo of cute and chaotic.
🐈⬛🪄+🎴=🏆 Really fun game and cool art style! I wasn't sure how I was going to get on with no text, but actually I found it very intuitive and satisfying to figure out. Almost makes the game feel more chill, like you're encouraged to figure things out at your own pace. For that reason I also appreciate the small starting decks rather than being overloaded with cards at the start. The deck-building elements feel great too, letting you introduce your own complexity as the game progresses. Great game developer, really hope more people discover it!
