Harukuru HD. - Spring has come true? -

Good, interesting sci-fi story. But too much lewd jokes and H-scenes. I glad that Steam version is 17+. Having the game auto-skip the H-scenes I wouldn’t have read anyway, is really convenient.

I played through the Japanese version recently, and paid again because I'd like to see the rest of Watanabe's four seasons to be translated. When I first saw the bright pastel colors and the large-eyed moe style anime characters, I was bit put off. Usually that represents an overly surgary VN where the girls are simple and the main character will end up with one in the end after a painfully cute romantic story. That may have been the ploy the creators had when they created this story, however, as anything in this story is rarely what it seems. An unforgettable sci-fi story about a place that seems like paradise. I highly recommend, especially for the price.

For most of human history, winter has been the most challenging season. You could say that it makes you wish for spring to come. I don't really take to like slice-of-life, but I loved Harumade Kururu. At its midpoint I wanted to think of it as a subversion of that genre, but having finished it I feel that it's so sincere that it can only fully embody those themes through darkness. The opening bits are remarkable for the restrained framing of its sci-fi mystery. There are very few visual effects, and it's not a great looking VN in general. Despite surface appearances, the characters are self-aware and introspective—it's almost an "anti-psychological" visual novel in that sense. The game is at its best when it respects your intelligence and allows you to piece together odd details in your head while everything seems perfectly serene. But while it's quite good at leaving breadcrumbs towards its core mystery, it's not subtle about its themes. At first, the most prominent feature of Harukuru seems to be sex, but it after the prologue it becomes particularly invested in the juxtaposition of sex and death. So.....where is the uhh ..... "even more uncut" version? Isn't it supposed to be released on the denpasoft store? The YouTuber Amelie Doree goes into much better depth on the details in development and musical construction than I ever could, (https :// www . youtube. com/ watch?v=SvSPjEpXUFw&t=525s) however in my own opinion: I found Harukuru to be charming in it's frankness. the art style is adorable, the music I have let just play absently because it's great company, and the writing over all makes for a great Science fiction/Philosophy novel. the UI can be a little finicky, but the story is worth it.
