About Helenenkapelle VR
Um die Helenenkapelle bei Bamberg ranken sich viele Volkssagen. Sie liegt idyllisch im Wald auf einem Bergrücken zwischen Kemmern und Baunach. Inzwischen ist sie nur noch eine Ruine und wird ab und zu von Wanderern besucht. Doch das war nicht immer so. Einst war sie ein beliebter Wallfahrtsort und der Wald ein Weinberg. Erlebe eine historische Reise zurück zur Blühtezeit der Kapelle und erfahre mehr über das Leben dieser Zeit.
Über mehrere Stationen wird der Spieler durch die Zeit geschickt, um mehr über die Kapelle zu erfahren. Dabei muss er verschiedene Aufgaben lösen. In kleinen, offenen Welten können dabei Fakten als auch Sagen gefunden werden, bei denen es um die Kapelle geht.
Erfahre diese Geschichtsstunde in VR und Locomotion in einer 3D gescannten Umgebung mit interaktiven Objekten.

Helenenkapelle VR is a VR experience. It does work on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was not understandable. Text is in German. There is not much to see or do, just walk to a ruined church in woods, read some text info. It Does NOT work on my Index system. Crashed to desktop with several error popups. Tried to play it twice. Don't bother downloading this program.8 found this helpful

"Helenenkapelle VR" is a simple historical tech demo, barely a game, more of a VR showcase about a chapel in rural Germany. What do you do in the game? You wander around a rather mediocre 3D reconstruction of a chapel and do some pointless mini-tasks by waving your arms around in not-so-glorious VR. There's no English translation for the game, but that's okay. The language of bad games is universal. The graphics aren't great. That's understandably be turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This is only free in a rudimentary sense... the developer has their hand out for a $5 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to buy some extra DLC from Steam... digital panhandling.
