Hex Two

This game is a masterpiece that any enthusiast should play

Not a bad game, but it desperately needs 'undo' button.

[b][h1]Hex Two[/h1][/b]Hex Two is a solid follow-up to Hex, same at it's core but with 80 new levels across 7 worlds. It introduces new mechanics that I'd argue are better than the originals'. It's the same length as the first game but still worth the price. [b][h2]Gameplay[/h2][/b]There is no need to play this game after the original as all previous mechanics are re-taught to the player throughout the game, it's still very trial and error reliant but the new mechanics introduced are a lot more fun. The new tiles all have very solid logic that lead you to knowing a general order to the level just from viewing, which can not be said for some tiles from the first game (the worst of which did not return for the sequel). The game still doesn't have an undo button, which does make longer levels tedious. [b][h2]Achievements (17/17)[/h2][/b]The achievements are purely for finishing all levels/bonus levels and final level, it's a relatively easy completion if you understand the mechanics. a good game for anyone looking for a puzzle challenge - some very difficult levels!

Hex 2 is the follow-up to the pretty good Hex, a navigation puzzle game. You'll need to find your way around a hexagonal board, touching each tile to make it disappear - you complete the level when all tiles are deleted. As you solve the levels, more and more types of hexagons will turn up to make your life harder (or, in rare cases, easier) - you know the drill, this is how a good puzzle game should go. Also, the game is how a good 2nd installment should go. Studio Goya was taking a look at all aspects of the original Hex, and tried to make improvements wherever feasible - while the visuals are pretty much the same, the music is much better suited to the contemplative nature of puzzle solving, there are much welcome gameplay improvements, and most importantly, the puzzles are harder, with more types of hexagons. Some of them are quite crazy, like the boats - and even those come in two variants :) While the puzzles in the original Hex were good-great but not brilliant, the 2nd game regularly reaches into this higher category, there were several puzzles which gave me the "wow, that was clever" feeling. [h1]Premise[/h1] Hex Two is a clean and sleek puzzle game with 92 distinct levels. The game takes its name from the hexagon shaped tiles that make up each game board. Similar to its predecessor, the goal of the game is to remove all hexagon tiles from the board. To accomplish this task, the player must navigate a white dot among tiles on a game board. Upon leaving a tile, it will disappear from the board moving the player one step closer to solving the puzzle. This also limits the remaining moves to reach the remaining tiles. The challenge lies in removing all tiles without running out of valid moves. There is no time limit to rush the player; complexity lies in the puzzles themselves.
