"Hiddens Awakening" is a genuinely made game, and I think it's disappointing that these genuinely made games are so rare. The "free" section on Steam is plagued with mobile scams, asset flips, AI slop and student homework assignments... finding a genuinely made game on Steam, thanks to Steam Direct, is almost like finding a specific needle in a haystack made out of needles. Anyway. What do you do in the game? Some clever ideas in this game; This hex based turn based tactical combat game relies purely on strategy and not dice rolls. I think this is a refreshing idea. You move your units around stealthily (they're called "Hiddens" for a reason), do a bit of base building... heck, this might have worked out as a game if the technical delivery had any quality to it. The technical delivery has no quality to it. While I couldn't find this on the mobile app stores, everything about it looks and feels like it's a mobile app designed for mobile phones... for PC gaming enthusiasts, it's not going to give you a cutting edge PC gaming experience. This game made me beat up my girlfriend but nonetheless 7.2/10 on the zaza scale.
