What Steam players say

Players praise the game's excellent retro aesthetic, fixed-camera cinematography, and charming holiday horror atmosphere that successfully captures a unique stylistic identity comparable to Puppet Combo. However, the main criticism centers on technical issues during a story mode gunfight sequence, with players noting glitchy hit detection and janky gameplay that detracts from an otherwise solid first half, though the game offers enough challenge and entertainment value for those willing to persist through its difficulties.
Almost a good horror game, I would say it's somewhat comparable to Puppet Combo in overall approach & presentation, but not as well nuanced when it comes to building tension or having those playful character interactions. The first half of the game was not too bad, but the gunfight in the story mode was completely atrocious, glitchy and janky at the same time, so something you may want to consider addressing, maybe lowing the speed of the doll or having better hit detection. The retro aesthetic was done really well, I like how the third person camera switches into fixed-camera angles, giving the game that cinematic feel. The models and texture also looked good, and I think you mostly handled those VHS/horror vibes pretty well, maybe with the exception of a few music choices that felt too goofy. Some of the camera positions in the house do need a little work, I am not too nitpicky when it comes to retro inspired games, but it was a little difficult to orient yourself upstairs. I didn't find the characters or the the narrative all that interesting, but not because of the premise, I think the conversations between the friends were too brief, and you didn't give them much to do. My new favorite Christmas game! Funny, spooky, stylish, anxiety inducing entertainment. There's two game modes for TWICE the festive cheer!2 found this helpful
I originally played this game when it first came out on itchio and I've been a fan ever since. It's a short but entertaining and weird as hell holiday horror game that has it's own unique feel and look, and the added Christmas Nightmare mode in the steam version is a fun little bonus mode that captures the same charm perfectly. Definitely recommended.2 found this helpful
Played this one on Itch awhile back and had a helluva time with that son of a gun Harry, but if you hang in there you can do it! As anyone who's familiar with his games will know, Samer will test your mettle, so if you're looking for a casual affair, this might not be your cup of tea. However, if you want a nice blood-soaked challenge, give it a shot please! And if you really want to see Harry get what he deserves, play through the newly added Christmas Nightmare mode and see it through to the end.
