Honked: a clown noir

A pretty fun but short narative game where you make baloon to please people or help with the few platforming section that exist. It's voice acted which is pretty nice but a few achievement are broken which is pretty much the only downside. I guess there are also no save, but i finished the game in around an hours while listening to every dialogue so i don't think it's that much of a cons.

This game is similar to another wonderful game, Poco! I love seeing clown games on here :3 The story is innocently cute yet the noir aspect is still very much there. Very fun concept with fun interactions and creative gameplay. ALSO needs a point shop asap!! >w<

First: this is a short and sweet game jam game, but I think the store description is pretty clear about that and it's priced accordingly. If you finish and refund this game, you will never see the light of heaven. Honked: a clown noir is an absurdly charming little game. It oozes style and love and feels like a lost Double Fine title—a mix of Grim Fandango and something smaller like Costume Quest. The gameplay is basic: talking to fun characters, blowing balloons to please them, and simple platforming challenges. The art and presentation are excellent, and the fun comes from the joyful presentation of the character writing, the creative and stylish world, and the simple but effective story. I would *love* to see a version of this game that has more clownmeat on the bone, but there's also a simplicity and charm to everything happening that I think it would be important to not lose that simple and pure essence by having the game get bogged down in less-fun nonsense. I've found there is some replayability with the achievements and multiple endings, but you're unlikely to get more than a couple hours out of this game total, but they're all hours you'll have fun with. A honkin good time

I can't overstate how charming this game is! It's a simple premise with an adorable aesthetic, although I admit I am biased as someone who is fond of clowns and circuses. Even outside of that, this is such a fun little story to play through! Not to mention that the balloon animal mechanic is so cool! What an excellent concept for a clown detective game that they execute very well! You can make as many dogs as you want!!!!! It's clear from the smaller touches as well that the creators really have a love for clowns and circuses too! The only negative thing I have to say is that I would like to select audio levels from the beginning, and that the voice work could've used better mics or could have recorded in less open rooms. But that's honestly small potatoes! Most of all, this game left me with one of the best, if unfortunate (for me), feelings. The desire for MORE! I would ADORE a longer and more in depth story with more balloon animals, more exploration, and some real *mystery* to sink your teeth into! I cannot recommend this enough! What a wonderful way to spend an hour or two!
