Not really a horror game, also mostly boring and very short (first playthrough takes like 15 minutes; most of my "playtime" was idling 2 hours for an achievement.

You either do simple tasks for a couple of minetes or you wait for some time. Not scary, isn`t atmospheric, not challenging in any way. Find something better to do.

As I was watching the Please Comply’s ending credits (it takes 15 minutes to complete the story) and the person responsible for art was mentioned I could not help but think
“Art? What art?”
If anyone created unique assets for this game, they’d overworked. There is a single room, a door, quarter of a corridor, and a few objects that could have easily been bought. The same thing could be said about the sound effects.
But this is an independent game, right? It’s all about the experience.
Only, there is just not much to be experienced here. The entire game loop could be summarized as ‘Look at the monitor – do what it says’. Then, there is a knock on the door and the player can look through the peephole and see the writing on the corridor wall that mostly says ‘Don’t do what the monitor tells you.’ By the time the player looks through the hole, the single interactive object behind their back is swapped, the command on the monitor is changed and the loop resets.
So, this game must be all about an important message?
It is not. The commands displayed on monitor lack even a modicum of subtlety. For example,
“This is your family. Abadon th…

A short but intriguing experience. Potential to make you ask bigger questions about control and choice. And if the lack of one renders the other obsolete.

Except maybe in the "meh" way. It was a little too bland. Even with the severity of the subject. If it was meant to be thought provoking, it wasn't. It uses Maslow’s hierarchy elements and even knowing and understanding that I couldn't feel what the main character might've been experiencing. I know this is a short (bite-sized) game and expanding the story would undo that, but it lacked the connecting factor to empathy or relatability. Without these two elements, it strips the game of essential thought-provoking psychological impact. That is what creates and makes this a psychological horror experience. That point where we (the player) connect with the main character's realization. That's when it becomes terrifying. Alas, that didn't happen. There's a good atmospheric narrative in there. Perhaps a different tone, delivery or mix of both would've helped. Of cou…
