About Hypnospace Outlaw
You're a virtual cop patrolling a bizarre '90s internet, hunting down copyright infringers and cyberbullies while dodging viruses, adware, and your own cluttered inbox. Customize your HypnOS desktop with ridiculous downloads and screensavers as you decide whether to actually do your job or explore the web's hidden corners for secrets and Hypnocoins.
Hypnospace Outlaw is a '90s internet simulator in which you scour Hypnospace's wide variety of weird and wonderful websites to hunt down wrongdoers, while also keeping an eye on your inbox, avoiding viruses and adware, and downloading a plethora of apps that may or may not be useful.
As part of your job as a Hypnospace Enforcer, you'll be watching out for copyright infringement, internet bullying and more, with reports and rewards coming direct from the Hypnospace Patrol Department to your inbox. In your spare time, you can customize your HypnOS desktop however you see fit, with a variety of downloads, wallpapers, screen savers and helper bots to keep you company.
So slip on your Hypnospace Headband™, and keep these key directives in mind:
- Crawl through Cyberspace: Scour the darkest corners of the Web for scumbag users who violate Hypnospace law!
- Dangers and delights: Download groovy GIFS and MIDI files, but watch out for adware, toolbars and hackers!
- Treasure hunting: Do your job to earn Hypnocoins, or ignore your inbox and go hunting for hidden pages, downloads and secrets!
- Relive your childhood: Equip obnoxious screensavers and skins for your desktop, and wiggle your mouse pointer around to make pages load faster!

A bit hard to get into at first but, after the initial hurdles of figuring out what to do and how to navigate the OS, it's a HILARIOUS and incredibly fun experience. Highly recommend to anyone who's into unique puzzlers, emergent storytelling, and Y2K nostalgia.
There is quite literally nothing else like this game. The 90's internet aesthetic and atmosphere was done so perfectly. Not only is this game just fun to explore, it has a great story to go with it. It's such a shame the sequel got cancelled. I hope there is more in the future to expand on this unique subgenre of games. My only complaint is that there isn't more.

girl help i became highly invested in fake internet drama. girl hELP I AM CONSIDERING TRYING TO NO LIFE IT. 10/10 game, I've had it for less than a week and it's genuinely become one of my favorite games SO fast. This is such a charming game of discovery and ouughhhhh it's probably gonna become a special interest I'm gonna be SO real. I can't wait for my 2nd playthrough :3 It's also heavily inspiring me to finally make my own website. I wanna make a cool webbed page.....
The story is amazing and the charm of this game is unparalleled. I completely bet you can play this game and forget you're playing a game. Every single character FEELS like a different person, it's kind of awesome. The lore of the game is equally charming, as well as the music, which is emphasized by the sheer amount of different early 2000s styles it emulates lovingly. There's entire videos hours long where people document the different music genres in-game and link them up to real actual genres now, it's wonderful actually. The concept of being a moderator on this platform instead of a simple user gives a lot of depth to the world, and lets you be much more immersed in the realistic ways you can't really interact with the "people." The fact that this game has a built in modding section is really wonderful, despite the fanbase being rather small for the quality you get in the game. Of its many positives, the negatives are as follow: The quests get repetitive. There's only like really 3 different ways you can solve a problem here, which is kind of sad for a game involving an entire wide web. Also the end-game sort of section has a lot of flashing lights, fair warning for people wi…
