About Icy Incline

"Icy Incline" is a experience where you control a penguin sliding through 24 icy trails. Race against time, avoid obstacles, and find the best route for the fastest time and reach the end of each trail. See your performance with stats like best score, worst score, and crashes.

As the penguin, your goal is simple yet thrilling: reach the end of each trail in the shortest time possible. The icy trails are filled with obstacles that demand quick reflexes and strategy. Feel the rush of the chilly wind as you gracefully navigate the 24 trails, avoiding crashes and collecting powerups. The obstacles consist of candy canes, cones, rocks, and ice patches. Candy canes, cones, and rocks will end your run, while ice patches will slow you down.

Controls: A, D - turn left, turn right

Icy Incline is a penguin racing game. The game has a few tracks and some are copy-pasted with a different obstacle or two. Most levels have RNG obstacles as well. The controls are abhorrent and the turning speed compared to the speed you're going is a joke. Oh yeah, you cannot brake either. The game also runs at super low FPS and you have to manually tune down your refresh rate. Overall, this game isn't worth playing at all. The gameplay is super poor.

15 FPS on such a game and impossible to enter any turn is some kind of cringe, there is some kind of miner encrypted or something

"Icy Incline" is nothing more than a shameless ripoff copycat of the free and open-source Tux Racer (Copyright Sunspire Studios, 1999). Many amateur "indie" devs treat intellectual property like something to brush away when they single handedly "invent" someone else's game and slap their name on it, stealing ideas from real developers because they lack the talent to create their own. Like this. Which is also weird because they could have just made their own Tux Racer using the FOSS source code... of course then that doesn't make an amateur developer feel good about himself because we'd all know it's Tux Racer. So instead, we get Temu Tux Racer. Setting aside the ethical failure, the problem is that when amateur devs rip off other people's games, it's almost always worse than the original... just like this is. This feels more like a tech demo or a project smacked together hurriedly to try make a kind of minimum viable product just good enough to pass the developers unambitious idea and shove it into Steam Direct to see if you can actually pay $100 and publish junk through Steam Direct. Yeah, you can. Is this good for gamers? Nope. This game looks a lot better visually than t…

Good luck trying to make a turn with no breaks.

Interesting game, little difficult for one of the achievements to get when the FPS can be a little over the place. Takes a little time to get the hang of it and if the physics work the way the are mean to it all comes together.
