i need everyone ive ever known to try this game. i want it to take off. it is fantastic. i wish there was a bit more tutorialization on pressure, i don't really understand its mechanisms smoothly. but more than anything i hope we get more guides and stuff on the steam page3 found this helpful
the existential dread incremental that you definitely need in your life. arf2 found this helpful
Three major problems I have with this game: 1. The developer does that thing where they act really proud of their detective vision feature. I don't think anybody except game developers have ever actually liked detective vision. 2. No jump button. I realize there's no reason to jump but it always feels weird when I'm not able to. 3. Linux support isn't great. I get diagonal screen tearing on the default version, and if I go with the Vulkan version the game crashes every time I go through a doorway (although who knows if that's exclusive to Vulkan). Maybe it has merit that makes up for this bad first impression. I don't know. But I don't have time to waste on games that don't leave a great first impression.1 found this helpful
Follow my curator page for more reviews!
I really enjoyed this for the first hour. I had enough downtime between fixing mechanisms to wander around, read manuals, and explore with the scanner (which seems a bit underutilized). I enjoyed typing in terminal commands, and pressing all the buttons and doodads on mechanisms was satisfying (other than how incredibly abysmal it feels to pull levers and especially rotate knobs). But then I unlocked all available mechanisms and it quickly went downhill. It became incredibly frustrating and stressful, you're juggling too many things at once and never have any downtime anymore like you did in the first hour. You're CONSTANTLY running back and forth turning things back on because they break/turn off after just a few seconds (especially the rotor which is the backbone of having enough energy to keep everything else running). I'm not sure why, but mechanisms that I used to be able to run for minutes at a time were now breaking every 10-20 seconds. I could never even go into the basement to try to learn the two mechanisms down there because everything up top was ne…1 found this helpful
I really like this game, and I will continue to share it to friends who like the incremental genre. I'm a big fan of the writing, too - especially the things that you see but do not read.1 found this helpful
