Idle Bookstore

Love this game! Genuinely has made me 10x more productive lol.

Disclaimer: I was able to play this game thanks to a key from devs :) I downloaded and began playing Idle Bookstore yesterday and really have enjoyed it a lot!!! I did it alongside watching some YouTube videos and chatting with my community and realized it really is a perfect game for whilst working & also doubles as a productivity aid if you do it multiplayer. I’m planning on buying some keys for my friends to play with me so we can cowork together virtually! The game itself is designed very adorably, I don’t know how game development goes but I’m pretty wowed that this was developed by such a small team! There are a lot of nice features and things to unlock during gameplay, reminds me a bit of some cafe games I used to play on my phone. Not super time consuming but awesome for fun little breaks while working

Writing your own books should be more rewarding than stacking the shelves with other books. At this point this doesn't feel like it supports my productivity as my own books expire after one hour, and they don't pay as much money as the other books. At least make it cost money to stack the shelves with the other books, right now this game feels kind of 'meh' to me. It costs money to write, but it costs nothing to use the other books, where is the reward loop in that? The idea is cute, the execution is strange.

Cutest little desktop idle i can just use after being angry at a game. I love clicking!! Pretty cute and solid idle game. Hopefully we can add some stuff but this is all good!

The multiplayer mode is so motivating

Very cute little game. I thought I wasn't going to play much then got sucked in for hours. I don't know if the fact that the words start counting up after awhile of idling (no clicks or keys) is a bug or feature, but I don't like it. I'd prefer it only count when I'm actually active at my computer. Update: It was intentional, and a toggle has been added. Thanks! Also forgot to mention one other thing. I really appreciate the scale options as the original size is way too small for me to see comfortably. However, it appears only some of the writer character sprite is actually clickable and the background so even with the character is inside the game window, I'm often clicking through to whatever window is behind, which is frustrating. It is possible to make this window "solid"?
