About in Space

in Space is a retro-inspired sidescrolling shooter that values precision and strategy over reflex or memorization. It's a round based, procedurally generated hybrid, combining its core shooter elements with score multipliers and colour puzzle mechanics. As you progress you unlock new ships with drastically different abilities, including the capacity to snipe, manipulate time, control enemy positions, become invincible or simply fling a beam of destruction across the screen. Advance through the games different modes that each put a very different spin on the core gameplay, and as you improve graduate to new and terrifying levels of difficulty.

Morlan's shorts:

It's basic, it's minimal, there's not much variation but it's made to take your mind off of things for a few minutes, half an hour tops. It's fair to the player, there's some challenge, it looks retro and plays like retro.. and it's cheap. Better than the one I just gave a thumbs down.. Don't waste more time reading lengthy reviews.. time is of the essence!

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…

Simple, repetitive shooting game, with simple, repetitive music. The whole thing becomes very grating after a very short time. You try to shoot enemies in the form of primitive colored shapes. If they reach the vertical line on the left side of the screen, you lose. You have to shoot them in chains of the same color or you get a penalty and this vertical line moves farther to the right side of the screen. Feels like the most basic foundation of an actual game that isn't in a state where it should have been sold. Not sure why the reviews are so positive on this.
