In Your Face TD is a pretty unusual take on tower defense because I am not just sitting back and watching my towers do everything. The whole game is built around room scale VR, so I am standing inside a space station while creatures come through portals trying to destroy my base. I have to build defenses around the area, create routes for the enemies to follow and then get involved myself with weapons. I like that idea because it makes a familiar tower defense setup feel much more active. The tower building is still important, and I like having to think about how I arrange everything. I can create a maze that sends the enemies through my defenses instead of simply putting towers wherever there is space. Mining drones also gather resources for me, so there is a small economy to manage while I am preparing for the next wave. The enemies are not especially complicated, but getting the layout right can make a big difference. I enjoy the feeling of watching a route I created actually work when a wave starts moving through it. What makes the game stand out is the weapons.
