Most of the levels feel RNG, or require literally perfect timing, I mean so perfect if you get somewhere 0.1 seconds late or early you have to restart the level, and most of the time you can do levels 5 times the same exact way and then the 6th time doing it that way you will just die much earlier then the other 5 tries, its also very obviously trying to be Celeste but that has good level design and good precision platforming, this does not. 3/10

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game, but it's not a ''very positive'' one either... I'm not into precision platformer games, but this one feels fast and some edges of the objects don't feel right. And regarding the puzzles, I would say that since the portals are already established, the puzzle is already solved by 60%, so there's not much of a puzzle here..

A have a lot of critiques, way more than I’d like, but I still think this little game brings a lot to the table. Some pros and cons: Pros: +Cool music and atmosphere +Level design was often pretty good +Final stage of each chapter was great at stringing together a tense experience, where by the end you’re doing things naturally that would look impossible to an observer +addictive to keep trying +portals and gravity change were always super cool +high difficulty, made it feel like I actually achieved something Cons: -physics felt inconsistent -final boss was sometimes fun but committed a grave sin: being rng-dependent. Some of its moves just kill you if you’re in the wrong spot, and because of the flow state of this type of platformer you often just are in the wrong spot. Also it bugged out and softlocked me after I beat it the first time by destroying the platform the next cutscene took place on so I had to fight it again, maybe I’m just a little mad about that. -kinda janky. Aside from the bug mentioned before I also had to route in things like invisible activation zones to get essential platforms to move. Doable but it felt unfair -hitboxes felt too big? It is ok. What you see is what you get and if that interest you then I suggest that you try it. For me I disliked small aspects of the game and I don't feel strong motivation to continue. First I disliked the over reliance of trail and error and the slight jankiness of the portals. Another issue is the frame rate. for some reason the frames were inconsistent during my play, whether it was unlocked (70~200) locked (120 dipping to 50) or locked half (60 dipping to 40).

Ingression is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This console reject pixelcrap platformer has a sci-fi theme, particularly bad graphics, and features precision platforming including wall jumping and dashing... but lacks polish, and frankly, there's over 7,000 platformers on Steam. This is not one of the good ones... in fact this doesn't even deserve to be in the same sentence as the tiny handful of platformers that somehow managed to survive despite being an obsolete format (you know, Silksong etc). From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. Got this from a mystery bundle. I think this is fun for anyone looking for a platformer challenge.
