ISOLAND: The Amusement Park

The game is centered around a mysterious story set in a strange seaside town. As you explore the area and solve puzzles, you gradually uncover more about the mystery. The puzzles are generally easy to moderate, with a few trickier ones that require some careful observation and thinking. You will need to play through the game twice if you want to get all the achievements. The puzzles are different in round 1 and round 2, and some items you use in the first round need to be used again in the second round for certain achievements. So you will need both rounds to get everything. The art style is also similar to the developer’s other games, with the same hand-drawn look. Overall, it’s a short and relaxing puzzle adventure with a mysterious atmosphere. I enjoyed exploring the strange little town and figuring out the puzzles along the way.

Picking up from where the previous game (Dust of the Universe) left off, this is an even more polished puzzler with a similar concept as far as the puzzles and the overall theme go. Just as its predecessor, you'll need two playthroughs to cover the entire game, with the puzzles in the second playthrough being considerably harder (had to use a guide a couple times because of impatience). Fewer, but fun achievements here as well, with some missables that you can get via persistence, luck or a guide (there are a couple available on Steam). This one's a bit shorter, but the asking price remains ridiculous, so it's a no-brainer for fans of the ISOLAND series and puzzle-lovers in general.

The beginning of the game confused me a bit, similar to the first Isoland. After that, though, things became smoother and more intuitive. Overall, I found it slightly harder than Isoland 3, especially during the second playthrough, which adds some tougher puzzles. I liked the addition of the colored pads mechanic; it was a nice variation on previous puzzle styles!

Developed and published by Cotton Game, this entry continues the distinctive identity of the ISOLAND series, presenting players with an experience that feels simultaneously playful, unsettling, and intellectually stimulating. Rather than relying on traditional narrative exposition, the game invites curiosity, encouraging players to uncover meaning through exploration, environmental details, and carefully constructed puzzles. The setting revolves around a newly opened amusement park on a quiet island town, a place that feels strangely frozen in time despite its promise of entertainment and joy. From the opening moments, there is a sense that something is fundamentally wrong beneath the surface. Townsfolk behave mechanically, repeating routines without acknowledging the broader strangeness around them, while the park itself feels less like a celebration and more like a façade masking deeper secrets. Good puzzle game, but lots of cryptic riddles along the way :-(

I am able to update my review. In the Bundle purchase, Game 2 needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled (start a new game) in order for the correct version to appear. Before that, the game was missing scenes and features. I hope the same fixes Game 3. Other than that, the experience is smooth, the puzzles are fair, and the game is cute.
