About ISOLAND3: Dust of the Universe
✦ AI summary
Explore a mysterious alien planet filled with ancient ruins and puzzles after your rocket crash-lands, uncovering the secrets of who came before you through point-and-click exploration and environmental puzzle-solving. This third ISOLAND adventure builds on the series' signature Escher-inspired art style with new modes, collectibles, and a deeper narrative about humanity's place in the cosmos.
At the end of ISOLAND 2, the rocket is finally launched into the space.
So what happens next?
In the third installment of ISOLAND franchise, the player has an opportunity to explore the story even further, which is also an opportunity for ourselves to test our curiosity and creativity.
I would like to footnote ISOLAND 3 with my favorite artist Maurits Cornelis Escher,
to explain the significance of art.
Every player of ISOLAND now is able to set off again with his curiosity.
I wish you all find the answer to your love when you complete the game.
\
Lost on the island, you must search for clues by clicking items in the scene. As you complete a series of puzzles, you will learn more and more about the mysterious happenings on the island, bringing to light a long-forgotten history.
\
Coming with the art style you are familiar with, various puzzles, delicately designed 2nd run mode,
and interesting collectables.
You've been traveling through the universe by rocket and come to an uncharted planet. This place is
covered with rocks and barren vegetation. What lies above the blue ocean is a bizarre, crimson sky.
However, you are not the only human being who have been here. Along your path you will encounter
ancient ruins, a mysterious spaceship, and countless puzzles to solve.
What are you going to do this time?

Very interesting puzzler with simple yet beautiful graphics and a simple yet nice story, that follows the ISOLAND universe theme. The puzzles vary from simple fetch-quests to fairly difficult ones that require some brainpower and/or good observational skills. There are also lots of secrets
(ahem... second run)
and interesting achievements, with a few missables. Also, the game saves your progress every time you quit (there's still no quit button for some reason, so you have to hit 'escape' when you're in the main menu). There is a good 5-6 hours of fun puzzle-solving in this one and for the asking price of just above $2 this game is an absolute steal. Do get it!1 found this helpful
The art style brought me to the game. I am an enjoyer of all things puzzles. This one definitely doesn't hand-hold you. Not always clear what you are supposed to do, but plenty of guides are out there to assist you if you get stuck. It's worth the full price, even better if you can find it on sale. A neutral rating for me... 6/10.1 found this helpful
'ISOLAND3: Dust of the Universe' serves as a captivating continuation of Cotton Game's signature puzzle series, preserving the distinctly surreal, hand-drawn art style and enigmatic atmosphere that fans have come to expect. The game’s primary strength lies in its world-building and abstract aesthetic, which blends retro-futurism with whimsical, dream-like imagery to create a genuinely intriguing environment. The puzzles themselves are cleverly layered, often requiring keen observational skills and non-linear thinking to uncover the cryptic secrets of the mysterious island. Accompanied by a soothing, atmospheric soundtrack, the title provides a relaxing yet intellectually stimulating experience for enthusiasts of classic point-and-click adventure games. However, the game's reliance on highly abstract logic can occasionally lead to moments of profound frustration. Because many of the puzzles lack explicit direction or intuitive mechanical cohesion, progression sometimes hinges on tedious trial-and-error or back-tracking across scenes to spot minute, hidden details. Additionally, the narrative remains so deliberately obscure and fragmented that players looking for a concrete, satisfy…
This third game felt like the most balanced entry in the series so far. There aren’t too many items cluttering the inventory (like in Isoland 2), and I didn’t run into the “random hidden clue” moments I experienced in the first game. It was probably the easiest of the three, but also the one I enjoyed the most. I liked discovering more about the universe and seeing connections to earlier games. In addition to the drawing pad, the game introduces an in-game screenshot feature... Although I couldn’t figure out how to review the screenshots afterward, so I didn’t really use it.
