Hmm, I would give this game a neutral rating if I could (6/10), mainly because you have to play it twice to unlock the alternative ending, which is mundane and unnecessary busywork, in my opinion. I do like the style of these Cotton Games and the puzzles are just challenging enough to not grow wearisome. Overall, a positive though not stellar experience.
This sequel expands on the mysteries of the island nicely. I especially appreciated the addition of the notepad, since the game asks you to remember quite a lot of patterns. Compared to the first game, I sometimes felt more lost: at several points I had many objects in my inventory but no clear idea what to do with them. Still a solid continuation of the series.
Isoland 2: Ashes of Time, developed by Cotton Game and published by Lilith Games, is a richly atmospheric point-and-click puzzle adventure that deepens and expands the strange, contemplative identity established by its predecessor. Rather than chasing spectacle or fast-paced thrills, the game invites players into a quiet, mysterious world where curiosity and patience are the primary tools for progress. From the moment you arrive on the island, there is a persistent sense that everything you see—every object, location, and line of dialogue—holds meaning beyond what is immediately apparent. The game is less about reaching a destination and more about slowly understanding the place you are trapped in. The narrative unfolds in an intentionally fragmented and indirect manner. Instead of presenting a clear storyline with explicit goals, Isoland 2 encourages players to piece together its themes through exploration, conversations with eccentric characters, and the gradual revelation of strange events tied to time, memory, and existence itself. The island feels like a living puzzle box, where science fiction concepts blend seamlessly with surreal imagery and philosophical undertones. Rathe…
This game does not match the walkthroughs. For example, there is no ladder leading down from the path with a broken fence. A wall that needed to reveal symbols/clues appeared blank. Several puzzle areas were not accessible. I didn't request a refund because I was able to play 3/4 of the game before the glitches showed up.

These games are so much fun, I'm not a good puzzler so I did use some help, but the story is very good! I really love games like this! (Sadly it didnt have steam achievements.)
