"ITRP _ Volatile Vertex" is an overambitious 3D puzzle platformer with gravity inversion gimmicks... and if you think this will be like Portal or QUBE, you'll be disappointed, this plays more like a Temu reject. It's clunky, looks bad, plays worse, and is more tiresome than anything else. The graphics aren't great, low poly stuff with low quality textures and one of the worse UI's I'vs seen for a while. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. The developer has their hand out for a $1 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to give them money for soundtrack DLC (that's already in the game) from Steam to "support" the "developer"... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's well over 130 million gamers on Steam. SteamDB…

I couldn't find any videos of anyone actually finishing the first big room so I hesitate to even call this a game...

I still have no clue how to finish the game, it gave me motion sickness, and I don't have it IRL

I could not even solve the first level because it's way to hard.

First person spacial puzzle (one room, platforms, gravity change). The game is a bit heavy-handed when it comes to player's comfort and the learning curve. You are thrown in to the deep end with next to none explanation of what is going on. While one may say it is part of the experience to figure things out, for a while it was the experience of "I am walking in circles and I have no idea what I am doing". Couple of puzzles were a bit too diffcult (honestly, there were two key pieces I would have never guessed how to get to without the walkthrough) - but maybe that's just me. Also, 3d first person platforming and logical puzzles is not the best genre combination - and it is a regular source of frustration in this game. Author clearly know that and tries to mitigate the issue - but it's still there. Overall, a solid puzzle game, especially coming from a one-man team. Will seriously test your spacial resoning. Not novice-friendly, though.
