✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's fun chaotic mayhem, atmospheric charm, and interesting twists on the Hotline Miami formula with civilians and spell mechanics, though most acknowledge it's quite janky with clunky controls and movement that frustrates. The randomly generated levels offer replayability but are considered inferior to hand-crafted level design, and the campaign is short at around 5 hours, though opinions vary on whether the jank detracts from or adds character to the experience.

Putting a 15€ price tag on a 2hr game is a statement, not a good one, but it is one. Overall the Story is fine, you kinda need to like this weird druggy perspective, reading the true events behind what the mind is bending them into. Gameplay wise, i didn't like the Game. This pseudo 3D does not work at all, you can't judge properly what objects block/kill you and what not. A staircase going down? = normal ground. Little holes in a plattform = your death. Beer kegs stacked on top = light wall blocking your way. Chairs and tables = sometimes block shots, sometimes just for show. With the Game being so colourfull you can't really judge what is what way to often, making the level desigin more annoying then it has to be. The Enemys also suck hard, all of them just rush you no matter what weapon they have. Hitboxes from enemys and yourself are also not well made. The whole "here are muliple seeds stick" is also more lazy then original. Good level desgin outweighs quantity, besides that i only used different seeds on accident never on purpose. (why try a level for 2min, just to change the whole structure?) The powers you get are not needed and don't fit the Game (Story wise they d…

Jackal is a stylish and adrenaline-fueled top-down action game that fully embraces relentless violence, high-speed combat, and a gritty criminal narrative set against the neon glow of 1970s Las Vegas. Developed and published by Transhuman Design, the game casts players as a chemically enhanced assassin tasked with dismantling powerful crime syndicates through sheer force and ruthless efficiency. Rather than focusing on stealth or careful planning, Jackal thrives on constant momentum, encouraging players to charge into dangerous situations with confidence while leaving destruction in their wake. Its retro-inspired presentation, psychedelic atmosphere, and cinematic influences immediately establish a unique personality that stands apart from many modern action titles. Combat serves as the heart of the experience, delivering fast, brutal encounters where nearly everything in the environment can become a weapon. Firearms certainly play an important role, but they are only part of a much larger arsenal. Furniture, glass bottles, melee weapons, and environmental hazards can all be used creatively to eliminate enemies, giving every encounter an unpredictable edge. The game rewards improv…

Extremely charming game with excellent dialogue, heavy on the metaphor. Really quite enjoyable.

kinda jank and short. lacks the magic and tightness that makes hotline maimi work. worth 3$ if you love the genre.

This is the LSD fueled speedball strung out weird uncle of hotline miami and ruiner. Tactics go out the window for complete chaos since the game has physics on all its props and randomized layouts. If hotline miami is John Wick or The Raid this game is the hallway from Oldboy or bus fight from Nobody in a back alley of motel in reno. There are 4 men in the room with guns positioned around a poker table smoking. One is facing.... None of that matters. Kickslide in to get in the thick of it and just start killing people with the furniture, kicked dropped weapons, your fists, guns, the fork one was eating with, an ostrich from god, whatever you can get your hands on. You will die, a lot. In ways that make you shout ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and because I set the game on whatever the highest difficulty was from the get go. Enemy ambushes after you thought the mission was over, bodies and props blocking shots and thrown items, a random end table launched by who knows what stopping you from dodging the thug with an smg that just popped out of the door behind you, Etc. Mount up again and just start go at it. This applies to the enemies as well. I'm 50% sure i blocked a shotgun blast with another shotgu…
