Jackal

I liked the game, good fluid combat with meh map design. Sometimes a bit irritating at times. Examples: Pickle, that construction level. Also i don't get the AI slop for the achievement photos when there's clear good design and artistic choices why leave it to the soul less gen-ai ♥♥♥♥ to do the work for you when you've proven you can make those artistic choices yourself. Combat feels like butter, sliding is a bit of a burden when you aren't good with it. Get good and you'll be taking heads. The main character is just straight up a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but i kinda like his outlaw charm. The detail in the blood is pretty good, it being caught in your shoes and leaving footprints. Also the god of death is very well designed.

Fear and Loathing In Vegas with guns.

"We're just two predators - chemically allied." Short? Sure. A story that's all over the place? Absolutely. But I think that's perfect. The game doesn't overstay its welcome. Just like our Hitman, it comes in hard and fast and leaves you satisfied with the havoc you've just unleashed. I had a great time playing through it, and as someone well acquainted with games like Hotline Miami, OTXO, and other such top-down shooters, it wasn't all that difficult, but it can definitely provide a good challenge. I love how shrouded in mystery the story is. You'll be trying to untangle it all, just like the protagonist, and you'll feel like you're on an acid trip right alongside him. It's definitely one of those games where a lot of it is up to your own interpretation, but at the end of it, you're a badass cutting down faceless mobsters with brutal efficiency. Don't even get me started on the OST - it's gold. And like some others have said, don't be a douche and refund it. Keep it - you'll want to play it again eventually.

The story is good, the atmosphere is psychedelic, and the music is boppin'. I very much enjoyed the time I got with it. The issue is that it ends too soon, it finished it in just under 2 hours. I'm actually debating refunding it because there's a lack of level content. Sure there's randomization, and a lot of mutators and options for replayability; however if you want a game like this with less cutscenes and more gameplay with linear levels; just play Hotline Miami. It plays the same, but is a bit twitchier when it comes to gunplay. I'll probably change my review to "yes I recommend" when the game has more content, because currently it's sorely lacking for a $20 game.

drug is one hell of a drug

Beautiful game, captures the essence of classic 70s and 80s styled cinema and is a great spiritual successor to hotline miami. Can't wait to see more.
