Game could be good, but in it's present state is very rough. Lack of controller support, and the need to spam mouse click to shoot are among some of the more annoying qualities. The controls over all feel very wooden.

This game was fun until you reach the third stage, which felt out of place and caused frustration. Eventually I will beat the game but that this third stage already ruined the experience for me. Terrible game.

This is a bummer because I was hopeful. I kickstarted this a while ago (it failed) and I wondered whatever happened to it. Turns out it was released but in a barely playable form. That’s a shame because there are good ideas here. A Mercs type game but with multiple level paths and destructible environments? Great! In reality though it is a slog. I played 2.5 levels before the refund request. It’s just not built to be fun. Surprise traps. A slow main character. Having to spam click to shoot a machine gun. All of these are bad. But then you get to level 3 which may be trying to be kinda stealthy? But there is no build for that in this. So it just winds up being awful.

Los gráficos pixel art están increíblemente bien logrados, con un nivel de detalle que rinde homenaje a los títulos de antaño. La banda sonora es una maravilla El gameplay es pura acción frenética. Los niveles están bien diseñados, con una dificultad que desafía pero no frustra. Además, el humor está presente en cada rincón del juego. Los diálogos y las situaciones absurdas te sacarán más de una sonrisa. Otro punto a destacar es la variedad de armas que puedes desbloquear, lo que añade mucha más diversión y rejugabilidad. Cada partida es única, y siempre hay algo nuevo que descubrir. John Mambo es un título que cualquier fan de los juegos de acción y plataformas debe probar y jugar. Es un tributo perfecto a los clásicos y con suficientes toques modernos para mantenerte enganchado durante horas. ¡Muy recomendado!

Mambo takes you back to the arcade games from the 80's. An action platform loaded with humour that made me smile as I was killing dozens of enemies. The experience is awesome, though demanding. Getting to the final boss unscathed is hard and defeating it even more. The music helps set the tempo but what I enjoyed most was the graphics. A dollar-store heroe that makes the enemies run around like headless chickens. Literally! Endless ammo is a great idea. So, give it a try if you want some light fun.

The game is a really fun beat 'em up. The extra animations, especially the part where the crocodile swallows us and we crawl out of its belly, make it very sweet. It felt like I was in an old arcade, and I didn't want to stop playing. The progression and difficulty level are adequate, and the well-calculated checkpoints saved me in many places. It's a great choice for those who like retro arcade fighting games.
