Stab, crush and cleave your way to victory.Equip powerful weapons, armor, and rings to change your tactics and tile selection for battles. Want to be a dual-wielding berserker, an evasive duelist, or a knight clad in heavy armor? With over 180 items there are interesting build choices and playstyles for every player.Navigate a randomly generated dark medieval world filled with madness. Unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the Sun or fade into the darkness. You are not alone. There’s always something lurking in the dark behind every fork in the path.

It's basically 10000000 (or whatever the number of zeroes there is), but with minimalist mechanics and an eschatological theme; which is fitting as a modern upgrade to the formula since the world economy and social contracts have nigh defaulted (profit-driven financial institutions, delusional managerial elites, and sociopatic tescrealites grinded hard to achieve this with a click of a pomodoro timer) and the human society ends any moment now as well. It's a good 1-to-2 YT video essays companion game, but it's hard to play it consistently for longer, because we're gonna experience the events first-hand anyways, and one of the YT podcasts told me I should be more productive and innovative to be fit in the bright future we're headed to, so I started learning copper wire thieving skills and precious metals in electronic devices content tables instead of playing to greet the technocratic posthumanist singularity as a prepared scavengingmaxxer. I won on my first run, then tried the duelist and it just immediately felt like the best strategy would be to discard all the duelist trappings and switch to doing the same as on the warrior run because dodging sucks (it can't ever block second attacks). The warrior's special power was borderline useless anyway since attacks were nearly always at max damage. Without the ability to see what the other characters are like I'm going to guess also more of the same, which leads to no interest in completing a second run, especially in light of another reviewer saying they've done all the things and it wasn't ever meaningfully different. It looked like it might be like Puzzle Quest, but it's not. Some powerups to modify the board or occasionally allow extra moves or something could have made this good, but the "randomized board each turn then one move" model means there's no planning, only luck and a tiny bit of effort to identify the best available immediate move (out of 40 possible moves, many of which are not actually possible each round).1 found this helpful
Interesting.
is good, should try
Not very good. Don't get.
Simple, addictive, elegant match3 roguelike. Fun, spooky style and presentation
