KATANA KAMI: A Way of the Samurai Story

I wished I could hate this game because I loved Way of the samurai 1, 2, 3, 4 and I wanted to actually get way of the samurai 5. But still even if this game is a spin-off it is kind fun to play and it has a very good rogue like mechanic, I liked it.

What a disappointment this turned out to be. This is a cheaply put-together roguelite with repetitive gameplay and a barebones story which wears thin pretty fast. It's a cash grab for a desperate studio, essentially. Actually, I saw something pretty incredulous that I couldn't believe my eyes: they were really running a sale where they were actually asking more money for this than the other Way of the Samurai titles. I'm speechless. This abomination is vastly inferior to them in every way. What an absolute insult to the developers who worked hard and made those awesome games. So here's what you should do: Instead of wasting money on this garbage, save your hard-earned money and buy Way of the Samurai 3 and 4. You'll have way more fun with that since they're actual open world sandbox games where choices actually matter (unlike what other franchises claim), and your decisions ricochet throughout the rest of the playthrough thanks to the persistent save mechanic.

Got this game in a bundle and was not expecting to play it. It ended up being much more fun than I anticipated. The swordfights kept me coming back. The sword fighting system is fun and keeps you engaged. The perfect blend of timing and strategy without being overly complex. It feels great to pull off a perfect move.

Game is bugged, broken but still fun but wish they would fix the game

janky movement and awkward camera. the screen shots are absolute BS too. The camera is far and above and looks like crap. everything looks and feels like two idiots with swords smashing into each other like action figures. a tragic fall from such heights. Way of the Samurai are some of my favorite games but this is like WotS fell down and got a terrible brain injury. i don't reccommend at all i just want to support the franchise
