Kathy Rain

Good game

Great game! Well written and interesting characters. I'mlooking forward to playing Kathy Rain 2, and circling back and trying the Director's Cut edition of this after some time has passed.

I enjoyed the game. Really low tech but you get to try a lot of things and figure out what works.

UPDATE: While I still feel the plot overall needs more work to be a really great game, I will say that if you play Kathy Rain (A Detective is Born) Director's Cut and then play Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer, the plot is a bit more enjoyable -- still needs work, but it helped to play both games. Some puzzles were frustrating; to avoid spoilers, I'll say that one of the puzzles towards the end has things "at a different angle" than expected for the layout provided. That same puzzle was also what I called "An artsy attempt at a riddle that didn't quite work out. Another puzzle or two were mildly irritating, but if you follow the rule of "Click EVERYTHING" you may not have the issues. Eileen is a questionable character: she invades Kathy's privacy constantly, and she even goes as far as to go to Kathy's grandma's house simply because she didn't come "home" one night (they're college roommates). Eileen is also connected with questionable people, and she's very eager to lie when the opportunity arises. Lastly, the story. It's got a good premise, but there were several things lacking (at least in the English version). Again I do not want to post spoilers, but I will say that this game start…

Nice, ending a bit weird although I like the genre, it could have been executed better

SPOILER ALERT!!! this game was pretty fun but the random pro-life bit at the end that had like nothing to do with the plot was a little random lol
