About Kill to Collect

“GIT GUD AND DIE TRYING” Kill to Collect is a cyberpunk rogue-like for up to four player co-op that is designed for short bursts of intense gameplay sessions, rewarding players for their skilled survival. Featuring procedurally generated levels, Kill to Collect brings a constant challenge. No two experiences are the same and every interaction could be the difference between life and death.
Set in Geoshelter Alpha, a dangerous and dystopian world that is the last known city on Earth, hired bounty “Hunters” patrol the lawless slums below to defeat enemies and reinstill order. Whether hired for money or glory, the “Hunters” all follow the same code: Kill to Collect.

Key features

Diverse Gameplay and Characters You will play as one of four “Hunters,” each with their own abilities and fighting styles. With a diverse cast of characters, each single player run offers a different gameplay experience. Mix and match Hunters in co-op to create complementary team builds and unique synergies. The playable characters include:
 • Kate Katana - The leader of the group and an all-around badass, sword-wielding, warrior woman.
 • Ivan Ironfist - The pretty boy raver who packs a punch with his bionic arms and has no need for physical weapons.
 • Riot Ray - The tanky former Corp officer who believes the best offense is a good defense.
 • Shocking Shelly - The rocket-fueled mechanic who fights with her homemade biomata suit, turrets and electrocution.
Strategic Co-Op Multiplayer Encouraging collaboration and precision, Kill to Collect offers a unique co-op multiplayer experience so you can team up with friends to face the perils ahead. 80’s Cyberpunk Makes Its Comeback Inspired by 80’s cyberpunk anime and manga classics, Kill to Collect delivers an action-packed, atmospheric experience with a synthwave soundtrack to power your runs.
3 Game Modes
 • Clean up the streets in the Story Campaign.
 • Clear eight floors as fast as possible to get to the top of the leaderboards in Challenge Mode. Choose between playing the Repeatable Challenges or the One-Try Challenge (both refreshed daily).
 • Hunt any bounty in any order, without the story beats in Free Hunt Mode.

Love the game... find it fun solo and in coop and the difficulty is... OUCH. I never was able to beat the final boss in the regular game I can get to the bastard but he's just a super tough nut to crack with all the different abilities he has plus the guy has a lot of henchmen that make things... very tough. Maybe one day... I love playing as the big shotgun dude but find the other characters harder to play. Especially the punching guy with his tiny reach and unpredictable movement ability especially seems like... wow how can anyone beat the game with that dude. Now that I think about it I might have to watch a youtube vid on that particular ordeal. Sufficed to say yes the game is VERY VERY HARD... but its fun. Fun enough for me to bash my head against the wall that is the final boss a LOT of times and I probably will try again a few times more before I revert to inanimate matter. EDIT: Forgot to mention the music is freaking awesome too. Shame they didn't give an option to buy the OST. It's that good.
First of all a big let down - don't expect twin stick shooter it plays more like a typical masher. You only use one joystick and attack in the direction you're facing. Gameplay is quite simple - take on missions and get through random generated rooms to win. Kill all enemies in the room to proceed further. Some missions have a few floors. 4 characters to choose from each with its own abilities. Collect bounty from enemies and open chests, that's it - no interaction whatsoever unless picking up something. Stack up in ammo and health in safe rooms or buy weapons and other items using chips (currency) which resets on each run same goes for vending machines with food - they give some passive abilities like increased damage, power ups duration bonus or more chips. Overall chips count unlock new loadout which can be equipped before a mission. Music is good and have nice retrowave vibes. Visuals are ok, nothing too eye straining. Despite all that I was hoping for some more badass gameplay because of the promising trailer. Overall not a bad game but a bit disappointing. If you're looking for a top down shooter look somewhere else.
2/10 - this game is not a twin stick shooter, not sure why its tagged in store as such. this is a single stick shooter where you do everything the direction you face including dodge - cant kite - pausing doesn't pause + local co-op

Demasiado lento y simple. Si haces un juego de acción simple, hay que hacerlo rápido, si lo haces lento, hay que hacerlo más complejo. Posiblemente mejore mucho jugandolo en cooperativo, pero para 1 jugador, se hace aburrido.
Quick Kills, Quick Thrills
Game blends fast-paced solo and multiplayer challenges in Earth's last city. Four unique characters and ever-changing dungeons keep gameplay fresh. It markets itself as a roguelike, but it's more of a roguelike-lite with some similar elements. Characters reset each mission, with upgrades available via a currency-based system. Kits offer small customization bonuses, and progress is account-wide, unlocking titles and skins. The game's fun in short bursts, though it can feel repetitive during longer sessions. Even the easiest levels are challenging, and the co-op experience is limited by the current player base. Performance might vary depending on your system. Unsure about its value at full price? It's definitely worth picking up on sale.
